This arrived in my mailbox yesterday, "from the detail-obsessed mind of Edan," "an astounding pastiche of dance, rapp, and punk that utilizes everything from turntables to tape echo, glockenspiel to guitar, moog to kazoo..." and the . soundtrack to an incidental visual album. A splendid twenty-nine minute track. :smoke:

Holy Cow so much music being posted here that I've never heard (or even heard of)

Kinda sucks to think that i'll probably never have time to enjoy it all. But then again its nice to know that i'll never run out of good new music to hear.

Anyway, my last non zappa album was "Visions of Light and Sound of God" by Jim James (frontman for My Morning Jacket)

imma post a link to a youtube vid in case anyone is interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDRALrVXJ_s

It's quite different from anything he has done with MMJ.

This arrived at my door no more than twenty minutes ago! I know it's not really all "new" stuff, but as a Hendrix enthusiast, I can hardly help myself when it comes to these kinds of archival releases. Tonight will be a good night for all gathered around the turntable... :smoke:
Image

Edit:
I also wound up getting this through a time-consuming chain of events that resulted in me getting a pretty sweet deal in the end, and basically trading my CD of PH&A for a special Target edition with a 20:01 bonus track "Ezy Rider/MLK Jam (Captain Coconut)" since I'm a sucker for that kind of advertising  I bought this because I just had some extra cash left over and thought... why not? Neil's my man!

If you don't mind all the booing. 8)

"...opened for Joe Satriani and Steve Vai... As gorgeous as it is, there was always an inevitability that soundscapes weren’t going to keep an audience predominantly expecting shredding-to-the-max entirely happy...a significant proportion of the audience were brave enough to boo loudly."

McKay's today.
Imagefor a friend who traded up to a 2011 Accord and complained that she could no longer play her The Best Of The Doors cassette (even though it has an in-dash 6CD player). I told her they haven't made cassettes for 10 years. Remastered. I reduced it to a single width 2CD case for the car. Disc 1 (then disc 2) Now Playing!

I saw one of these G3 gigs in Bournemouth.
The Fripp bit was weird. The houselights stayed on the whole time.

I was the hilarious person in row 3 that shouted for an encore (to much laughter....)
