Love Weasels, It might just be the most unconventionally good album I've ever heard.

I think my next will be Zoot Allures and Bongo Fury. I like buying Zappa's albums in pairs, gives just enough context I think.

Glad to hear you're getting Weasels next! It's a good 'un!

Weasel's contains plenty of moments of sheer brilliance from the early days.
The album artwork is pretty damned spunky too 8)

It took me a long time to digest Weasels. I don't think I fully appreciated until years after I had bought it. "The Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbecue" is a brilliant performance

It's funny because I can imagine you feeling like that about this album. Whilst I got straight into it myself it was Burnt Weeny that I didn't appreciate for probably a couple of years

When I got into Zappa in the late Seventies, the Verve albums were the holy grail and almost impossible to find. You could get used copies, but way out of my budget, and much more expensive than now with internet sales. The Bizarre/Reprise/Discreet albums were common to find as new product in good record stores, so UM, HR, BWS and WRMF gave us young fans the first taste of early Zappa/MoI. I always loved Weasels, because it's so weird and groovy in its own peculiar way. And when I finally got a hold of the Verve LPs I honestly couldn't say that they outmothered Weasels... Ripped My Flesh - one mother of an album 8)

Get it with Burnt Weeny Sandwich if you don't have it already!
