Being a HUGE fan of this series, and on my annual-ish 'listen to the whole damn thing' kick, right now...I recalled something from the liner notes, and guess we can also add this to the things that will probably not be released since Gail is in WAY over her head, and not giving the people what they (And obviously Frank) wanted.

The "criteria" for these releases is listed in the front of each booklet, and #8 happens to state:

"Is there film of videotape of the performance?"

I remember way back when I first purchased Vol. 1 that I got excited because we'd get to SEE this stuff...but to date, no hint whatsoever of any video releases of these.

I'd personally love to see some of these things come to light...as well as seeing an extension of this series since it cover ALL of the bands over the years!

Video From Hell had a few of the bits from 1982 on YCDTOSA.

The series ended perfectly with Volume 6. With FZ gone I don't want someone else to try to continue it.

True re: Video from Hell (which was what I thought was a "teaser" of things to come) Not sure why they haven't just re-released that one on DVD as well... (it's "in the can", the artwork is all done...just master it for DVD and release the bugger...no brainer!)

I just think that there's SO MUCH in the vault like that, that we could stand another 6 volumes. Heck, how do we know that Frank didn't have a few reels sitting there for "part 2" already?

Between things like Apocrypha, and Mystery box that are already out there in a bootleg capacity, you'd think that they'd want to get more stuff like that (on a more official level) out to the masses, to capitalize!

There are a few "build reels" of live bits that have turned up on One Shot Deal and some unofficial sources. That is probably as close as we will get to a follow up.

I wouldn't take it too serious what is in the liner notes of YCDTOSA. It doesn't mean that each criteria must fit to all selections.

I'm okay with the Road Tapes continuing on in lieu of the YCDTOSA series. I'd hate to see what people other than Frank cherry pick for a compilation, I'd rather have warts and all complete shows like the Road Tapes.

Providing the Road Tapes actually continue as a series of course...

That (in bold) is a HUGE statement! One can only hope!
