Thanks Spacebro'! 8)

Now that has miles on it !

You get a lot more mileage out of being nice, than your big letter yelling and repeating your mantra that "we are right they are wrong" Tea-bagger crap. You've been wrong going on 4 election cycles now. Bug's ya don't it Little Billy?!?

I think that's a bit sad. Ever since the death of Goscinny, the Asterix books have been going steadily downhill - the depths were really plumbed with "Asterix and the Falling Sky". Now it's just being turned into a complete and utter franchise. I always respected Hergés decision to let Tintin die with him (although I sometimes dream of reading a Tintin I've never seen before) - I wish Uderzo would have followed his example and just let it be after Goscinny's death...

Another one to buy for the collector that I am. Hope it'll be better than the last one.
I read that Uderzo is now 85 years old. All the classic ones are going one by one. Tibet and Tabary recently. And I also read that Fred has drawed his last Philemon. And Gotlib doesn't work anymore because of his back.
My ol' heroes are gone, in Rock and in Comics. Sad time.

I hope these guys will have respect for the tradition of the good old Asterix books and bring it back to a new life. Otherwise it will be as superfluos as all those FZ coverbands.

Worse yet, when the GOP's guy David Vitter got caught as a john participating in prostitution/child sex slavery/human trafficking, instead of condemning him and demanding he step down, his fellow Republicans gave him a standing ovation.

Bacon Flavored Condom Could Make Porking More Fun and Safe
Kathleen Lees

If you're wanting a little more porking during a coitus sesh, now, you can have it all! According to recent news, a company is creating a bacon flavored condom. Yum!

J&D's, a company whose tagline is "everything should taste like bacon," tests that maxim with their latex condoms that have been coated in "baconlube," a water-based meat-flavored personal lubricant. They also promise "An even more hot pork experience." Who can beat that ad?

These days, it seems it's bacon flavored everything, from lip balms to tooth paste. People just can't get enough of their pork products. But bacon flavored condoms? Have they gone too far?

Bring home the bacon

It was breaking news over the weekend, Phil Ramone passed away. I didn't hear anymore about him. How old was he, what he died from, how many Ramones are left? Etcetera. :|

Went for a walk in the forest where the last major German offensive under General Wenck against the Russians was supposed to take place; Hitler's last telegram from the bunker to General Jodl was "Where is Wenck?" Jodl's answer was not very encouraging, so Hitler topped himself. Looked vaguely for signs of the battle, but the snow was too deep.
However, just to show that there is enough evidence of WWII left, this is today's news in Berlin:

In the wacky world of Republican/Tea Party related news....

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/0 ... 03401.html

Quote:
North Carolina May Declare Official State Religion Under New Bill

Republican North Carolina state legislators have proposed allowing an official state religion in a measure that would declare the state exempt from the Constitution and court rulings...

SECTION 1. The North Carolina General Assembly asserts that the Constitution of the United States of America does not prohibit states or their subsidiaries from making laws respecting an establishment of religion.
SECTION 2. The North Carolina General Assembly does not recognize federal court rulings which prohibit and otherwise regulate the State of North Carolina, its public schools, or any political subdivisions of the State from making laws respecting an establishment of religion.

Why is the Liberatarian Constitutionalist outrage no were to be seen on this?

Dee Dee Ramone (Douglas Colvin) – bass guitar, vocals (1974–89)
Johnny Ramone (John Cummings) – guitar (1974–96)
Joey Ramone (Jeffry Hyman) – drums (1974), lead vocals (1974–96)
Tommy Ramone (Thomas Erdelyi) – drums (1974–78)
Marky Ramone (Marc Bell) – drums (1978–83, 1987–96)
Richie Ramone (Richard Reinhardt) – drums, vocals (1983–87)
Elvis Ramone (Clement Bozewski) – drums (1987)
C. J. Ramone (Christopher Joseph Ward) – bass guitar, vocals (1989–96)

Philip "Phil" Ramone (January 5, 1934 – March 30, 2013) was an American recording engineer, record producer, violinist, and composer, who in 1958 co-founded A & R Recording, Inc., a recording studio at 112 West 48th Street, New York, above what was then Manny's Music. The success of that studio caused it to grow into several studios and a record producing company. He was described by Billboard as "legendary", and the BBC as a "CD pioneer".

Cellphone turns 40.

MTF: That bacon-flavoured prophylactic reminded me of when Belgian magazine Humo had a chocolate-flavoured protector as a gadget. On the Reader Entries page, one reader naming himself "Wild Thing", said that his wife got carried away when they were using it, and bit it. To which the editor replied: "Now you can scratch the wild."

Proposal would allow state religion in North Carolina

By Laura Leslie

Raleigh, N.C. — A bill filed by Republican lawmakers would allow North Carolina to declare an official religion, in violation of the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Bill of Rights, and seeks to nullify any federal ruling against Christian prayer by public bodies statewide.

The legislation grew out of a dispute between the American Civil Liberties Union and the Rowan County Board of Commissioners. In a federal lawsuit filed last month, the ACLU says the board has opened 97 percent of its meetings since 2007 with explicitly Christian prayers.

If they (N. Carolina) wants to walk all over the 1st amendment, then they should have no problem with the 2nd when we come to take their guns! Last time those crackers tried to mess with the government, we had a civil war. There is no pleasing these peckerwoods, ever!

Some might say the West is just itching for NK to try something, so this thing can get settled once and for all, even if a couple of nukes go off.

Apparently, a couple of NK submarines have gone missing...
