Yeah, I would love to get a new studio release from the Crowes. IMO, that last bookends 2-disc album is their best work to-date! I held off on the tour having just seen them last time around and no support of a release this time.

Thinking about going to see the Residents. Am a bit put off by the fact that I prefer this...

I saw them in Chicago last month and I'm so glad I went (3rd Residents show, I believe). They've yet to really disappoint me!

Kind of goes without saying, man. :|
I didn't get into his work *outside* of the Residents until this year actually. Great stuff! It was inspired by seeing the Residents that night and hearing Randy talk about how he misses Snakefinger - very touching.

Have you heard any of the live bootlegs floating around? They show what he could really do IMO!

Going to see Ike Willis, Ray White, and Robert Martin playing with the Chico, CA tribute band For the Love of Frank April 29th at the Sierra Nevada Brewery. Finally, a chance to see FZ music played well with multiple alumni and without substandard vocalists. Microbrewery Heavyweights and music biz veterans Sierra Nevada own more lawyers than the ZFT so no fears of intimidation.

I guess it's time to break the news over on DZW then. This should bring a flurry of and but also's from the uber DZ-GZ-ZFT fan. I'm gonna be labled a negative persona non grata, bet on it. No worries, DZpZ has avoided this area since that prick Apotheosis-Diesel Dummy, Little Sally, etcetera fucked with DZ over the download maybe more, as DZ asked me for a photo of the guy. Which I gave to his then fiancé Megan, who gave it to security. That all sounded like more than an upset fan getting mad. It sounded more like somebody trying to get even with threats and crap like that. So DZpZ hasn't been here in over a year and I gotsta' have me some Live Zappa by some Live Mothers! 'Nuff said!
(it's gonna be great!) 8)

Kapt. - IMO no need to intentionally provoke anybody, though that can be kind of fun sometimes when you know you are in the right. Just provide the info pure and simple. You're a grown Kapt. though. Do what you like.

Already done and Cletus is thinking of asking the boss for a day off too! I told him he could stay wherever I was staying. We've all shared rooms for DZpZ at one time or another. It's not like we're all strangers or anything like that and we're all adults and you being so nice and all I well, I um, invited Gary to fly out and take a look at FTLOF with us. Spend the night and have a fire and koombyeya stuff, OK? (I never gave any names though, I swear!)

Yeah. Bring Gary and Little Sally in and we'll have a Zappa summit. Probably bringing peace to the Middle East would be easier but we could give it a try. :)

I'll be getting in free to the Prince show if I bother to go. I've been told to never look him in the eye. He's really up his own ass.

Went and saw some local boys, The West Nile Ramblers, who put on a great fun show last night. The Tai chicken was great too.

After For The Love of Frank w/ Ike, Ray, and Robert on April 29th, I've got the Feather Falls Casino Brews and Brews Festival May 25th. Went last year and had a great time seeing one of my favorite bands Rick Estrin & the Night Cats. This year an old favorite of mine Chris Cain plus Roy Rogers and a slight Zappa connection with Canned Heat! I was excited to learn that Harvey Mandel is touring with Canned Heat these days.

I haven't seen Canned Heat or Fleetwood Mac since I was maced along with everybody else in Stockton, CA, in '72 or '73. It was an outdoor concert at a ball park. Bikers started throwing bottles over the fence into the crowd because they didn't open the gates and make it a *free* concert like Altamont was. That was an invitation for the cops to let the mace canisters fly! The Jefferson Airplane, CH, FM all got it too. Now look at Stockton, it's gotten worse there, not better.

Last night, I attended Prince's 2nd of 4 Vancouver shows and will be attending show #4 tonight.

I've read several professional reviews of the shows and they just don't get it. This is NOT a Prince hits show in an arena. This is Prince in an intimate venue w/ a 3 piece band (primarily bass, drums, guitar & vocal)! And the tour is entitled, LIVE OUT LOUD. Now, what does that imply?! ROCKING OUT! That's what! Which is what they did. And I am absolutely stunned at how amazing the show was last night. And while I can't say until I go again tonight...but it might've been THE best concert I've ever seen (THE best was probably when he played here at Rogers Arena in Dec. 2011) and partly because I was almost literally eye level with him in the GA seating front row (though, there was a small GA pit in front of me).

Too many details to process right now. But I'll review the shows sometime tomorrow...

I saw him on a late night show a while back, with I assume the same band. He rocked, no doubt!

Don't look him in the eye or make eye contact. He don't like that and even has it written in his contracts.

Glad you guys liked it, Prince, when preforming is awesome to the max. :D 8)
