You are what you is.

Just got it yesterday. Lots of fun, loads of different styles on this.

Sleep Dirt, DiscReet/Warner Bros. 1979. - The LP sounds slightly more spacious, with a little less intrusive bass than on Ludwig's 2012 remaster. I like the new CD, but the LP is the Sleep Dirt I love - because it's the best!

I am listening to what is called Orchestral Favorites Outtakes in the bootleg circles, but this may very well be what FZ referred to as "Six Pieces", originally what he hoped to be released in late 1976.

Strictly Genteel (different take)
Duke of Prunes (no guitar solo, mixing differences compared to OF)*
Black Napkins
Rollo
Pedro's Dowry (some mixing differences)
Naval Aviation in Art (presumably the same as OF)

*Dave Parlato's bass is freaking good on that one, more noticeable than on OF in fact!

Absolutely Free. This and Roxy is the best he put out (that i have heard) in my opinion. Listen to this album over and over.

YAWYI - possibly my favourite thing from 1980s, alongside Ship Arriving Too Late...

For the most part I love that album but there are some songs I really don't get on with such as Coneheads and Teen-Age Wind. But I need to listen to the album as a whole more.

Adios, adios my lil' darling...

Listened to this today... Great album, it should have been released when new - could possibly have boosted Zappa's reputation in the early Eighties. 4 LP sides of prime Eighties Zappa + Al Di Meola - what's not to like?
