Your question was similarly asked on Bill Maher on HBO last Friday. I think most if not all of the panel weren't persuaded by the hint that the question poses, that maybe a gun could have helped in this or that terrorist situation. But, even a guy who got shot in the Virginia Tech shooting said that that argument didn't convince him that a gun would have helped. Salmon Rushdie (sp?) said he'd likely shoot an innocent bystander or have his gun turned against himself. I am generally pro-gun rights (w/ background checks!), but don't find that the straw man arguments help. If anything they scare the people who don't take the time to think the whole thing through. Scared people with guns doesn't sound like a good thing to me.

I was just watching a video of the way the house-to-house search was conducted.
I don't think I would have wanted a weapon anywhere near me.

We have to give credit where credit is due, with the aggressive nature of the house to house searching over such a large area, it does seem that possible civilian accidental incidents were avoided... :smoke:

Another way to look at it. People who commit acts of terrorism and mass shootings create an excuse for house to house searches.

One persons rights can be an infringement on another persons rights.

They'd a shot me fer sure and called it "just cause". Just cause I was in front of their bullets! I wonder if that's what happened to Bat? It would seem he'd like to piss on this perp, and yet not a peep outta him. Hmmm?

Why do people buy exercise bikes and shit when they can go out and run or swim and why do they pay to go to a gym which is situated near to a gorgeous park where they can run in the outdoors for free?

Could it be that paying coerces them into going? Woah that hurt, might as well go or else I'd be... WASTING MONEY!! Nobody wants to waste money.

I am sure these are rhetorical questions, but there are very good answers... :smoke:

Some people like me who spent nearly their whole life out doors living for the rush have had plenty of high impact activity and no longer can stay in shape unless they are using low impact equipment due to the wear and tear… :|

A lesson learned from us early explorers of the outdoor adventure or extreme life style, now people know that their general training should be done low impact and save the body for actual outdoor activity...

I am sure many just prefer the girls...

I feel like a lot of FZ 'Zappa Records' version of albums with NPB singing lead are purple.

Calvin hasn't posted for awhile. Is he still hiding in the basement?

"(CNN) June 16. 2013 -- Four shootings in less than an hour left three people dead in Omaha, Nebraska, police said."

We don't deserve the flying car yet.(of course you and I do) We earthlings are too distracted as it is & have a hard enough time driving land vehicles while eating, speeding, checking email, smoking a joint, flipping the bird, tweeting, drinking booze, applying makeup, talking on the phone, arguing with the wife, watching a dvd, slapping the children, cutting off that motorcycle etc.

Imagine if every car owner became a flying car owner. More skyjackings of the flying Lexus or Cadillac. Litter being dropped on your house. Airborne gangs circling your neighborhood like carrion eating birds. Then there is an added up/down axis to deal with. And you thought LA traffic was bad. (nudge nudge)

The only thing we deserve as a species is a good earth ass whooping, maybe some Pompeii type volcanoes...not big enough, or massive flood...already happened Atlantis Noah, maybe a meteor…to cliché’, I got it a mega solar flare, probably kill off a good 30 to 50 percent up front, no more electricity or electronics, that should starve off another 30 to 50 percent…hell that could cleanse the planet of 70 to 90 percent of the human infestation… :smoke:
