I've heard a rumour that 200 Motels is being re-released in the UK at the end of July this year!

Anyone got any more info?

So the release date, at least in the UK, looks like July 1. Anyone have more details as to which version this is?

Believe it or not, I haven't seen the original movie or VHS versions. But I bought the Tony Palmer remastered DVD right after it came out in 2010 (though, as I recall, many fans didn't like it) and have watched it several times since with some enjoyment.

The picture in the information on the Boulevard Entertainment website indicates that it's the Tony Palmer version.

What's the difference in the versions?

Boulevard tell me it is indeed a re-release of the 'Palmer' version from 2010.

I keep wanting to buy it. Only £5 but everyone says the transfer/remaster is awful and a shameless cash in by Palmer who distanced himself from the film for years and now realised it could make him some money.

I would be happy to pay a bit more for a better quality version.

I may have fucked up. I don't see any release date in the listing. But I had one more x-mas gift to get for my son, and I added this so I could get free shipping.

I just want to watch it again. My old VCR starting eating tapes a few years ago. So I've been afraid to try to watch my VHS, for fear of losing it forever.

Why is it exempt from classification? I e-mailed the BBFC but still no reply! Originally it was rated an 18, I imagine if it was rated it would be a 15 now.

I don't claim to know the answer, but I'm guessing because it wasn't an official theatrical release. It may have been shown in limited theaters. I was 5 years old when it was released. Maybe some of the older forum members can answer correctly.

Nah that wouldn't be it as TV shows and straight to dvd films and documentaries all are rated. There is usually a specific reason, but seeing this has tits and swearing in, you would think it would be rated.

Just got through watching it. Regardless of all the bad reviews over the transfer to DVD, I'm glad I got it. It was nice to see it again. Haven't watched the commentary yet.
