http://blog.bestamericanpoetry.com/the_ ... poser.html

I am honored to have been asked by a friend of mine who runs a poetry blog to write about FZ.

I decided to go easy on the technical details, but his readers are not morons, either.

Hope I achieved a good balance.

Please do tell if I screwed something up.

Lewis Saul

wowie zowie, lewis, great effort; nice to see some fz exposure to a community that may not get any ... as far as balance, you know the intended audience best, the reviews flows rather smoothly... lighten up on the exclamation marks ! ¡

your choice for greatest guitar solos of all time is rather interesting

You are right about the !'s -- I tend to get carried away trying to express !

Thanks for the kind words. Tomorrow's post is pretty massive with my personal postscript...

Good advice, always. I tend to get carried away!!!!! [oops]

Do you mean WTP? What would you nominate?

Thanks for the kind words. The flamers at AFFZ slammed me for daring to say that Brown Shoes is interesting music.

Great effort! I'm going to have to pick up One Shot Deal. I can never get enough of FZ's guitar solos/compositions. I've always been underwhelmed by Trance-Fusion, with the exception of Bowling On Charen (that sucker blows my socks off!) and After Dinner Smoker.

Would love to hear a full blown version (if it exists?) of Venusian Time Bandits. That is one smoking hot guitar solo!

Your review Isaul might even make a poodle react (!) Nice job, I enjoyed all the links too. Thanks for sharing it with us, I always like to read anything about Frank, he's such an enjoyable, juicy subject matter.
5 stars man! (another ZappaFreak!) 8)

Great job Lewis, a most enjoyable read. Also enjoyed the links.

Can you explain what you mean here?

Wonderful overview, it may make me re-evaluate Broadwat the Hard Way. I love the '88 band and saw them twice at the Tower Theater in Philly. I find many of the originals on BTHW to be amongst FZ's worst.

I finished every bit of it. Lewis, you should be proud of this work and you should publish it.

Whoa! Tuff crowd, and they have they're own Trendy too it seems... and according to one poster (The Old Geezer) Lewis Saul who's now here as lsaul is a fake or pretending to be someone else. There was a Saul here around the time of Arch Oblar...that and my last name is Lewis...any chance it could be one of the pear farm crowd? LS, you gottta new pear-pickin' hand like ol' Eddie using your computer again?

Still it was a good review. I wonder who is who now. The affz can be confusing and on that site lsaul is more aggressive. Of course we're showering him with praise here. Let's see how he responds to me questioning everything like I do?
Prove your who you say you are, or the affz forum is right lsaul. If you thought the ZFT was tough, I'll feed ya to the Zappa.com forumers!

Thanks slime. I don't think the "slam" was that bad, just one person's opinion which he qualified at the end.

Aren't there 95 official releases? I know we pretend #95 didn't happen, but unfortunately, it did.....

******

This is me for real and getting older as we speak.

I'm working on a new FZ site which will (at first) be a mirror of my old TFZMRI site, with additional analysis.

The MOFO discs gave me an amazing opportunity to go back and re-notate a bunch of stuff that I couldn't hear that clearly at the time!

Hopefully before I die I'll at least be in the #60's or #70's ...
