Helen Thomas. If you've seen a Prez announcement from the WH, she was there asking the right questions at the right time, always polite but firm. Bummer she won't be there anymore, I always looked for her in attendance. She was 92.

That's the second time this year I transposed last names. I think jpd caught the last one. Jeeze, I'm getting bad! I can picture her face, but still put Smith. :oops:

JJ Cale...a gentleman and a great guitarist. I only knew him through his music which I first heard many, many years ago and the news of his passing saddens me. RIP JJ.

Bud Day, an Air Force fighter pilot who was shot down in the Vietnam War, imprisoned with John McCain in the notorious “Hanoi Hilton” and defiantly endured more than five years of brutality without divulging sensitive information to his captors, earning him the Medal of Honor, died on Saturday in Shalimar, Fla. He was 88.
