Dear Vaultmeister Joe,
thirteen years ago my dad wrote you an e-mail on the old Zappa site giving you the props for the vaultmeisterment and asking for some items like the long version of "200 years old", that we know from a radio show with Captain Beefheart in 1975. "It's all there" (in the Vault) "and will be released within the next years!"

I think what makes the 1975-Tour so outstanding, is the giant gathering of the three geniuses Zappa-Beefheart-Duke, nowhere else better exsemplyfied as on that long version of "200 years old" with the full Duke piano part and more of Don's moans.

I really liked the release of the mothersday special (Penguin In Bondage/The Little Known History Of The Mothers Of Invention). SO if the long version of "200 years old" is not already a fixed part of projects such as "Lost Episodes 2" - wouldn't it be nice to make a similar downloadable release of that item in memoriam of George who is going to meet the other two giants somewhere in the aeons up there...

Apologize for my lousy english

All of this will happen soon, I hope.

Much anticipation was created by the Universal Music press release last month...

As as aforementioned in the song title itself: 200.

Hi,

+3

I think the Trust is now going to enter into a very tough decision period as to what to do next. Both major folks in charge (Dweezil is one?) are not very good at the orchestral stuff, and the success of the "200 Motels - The Suites" is limited ... because of the rock audience that only wants the guitar or in this case George's input, and in the end, this has a tendency to lower the value and standard of all the music ... I suppose that I could ask for the piece that had a violin solo by Mr. Vulcan L'acidhotder and the vault will say someday in the future ... after we are all dead and maybe 100 years from now, they will find over 100 hours of compositions by Frank Zappa, that we never appreciated, because the only things we wanted were the bits and pieces that appeased to our rock show likes ... and not necessarily the music itself.

I think we have to start looking at the music differently, or the coming out of this stuff is going to be lost ... and wasted ... and we will never hear it. Sticking to one favorite piece, is not a good idea, specially when we know that Frank himself even put the guitar down to conduct when a fan kept asking for another solo!

It's about the music and all of it ... not just a part of it, and George is a part of it all.
