It's for a life-long friend's wedding (she's marrying that guitarist I told you about checking out when you were last there). It'll certainly be "trouble".

BTW - reading Howard Kaylan's book and it's fantastic!

Damn, really? Are you a fan of Flo & Eddie as well as Zappa? I've always dug Howie and think his vocals are completely inspiring so I went in "biased" but really loved all of the "war stories" from the road, etc. What disappointed you the most?

Just joking, I thought it was OK and I certainly didn't regret buying it but I didn't like the stress all on his girlfriends/wives and how he was- unfaithful- to- them-and-a-bit-of-a-bastard-but-hey-it's-cool-now-because-I'm-all-grown-up-now-and-can-admit-it attitude. Also, the "missionary of marijuana" schtick get on my tits a bit. I don't really see much difference between alcohol and marijuana myself, but anybody who banged on about the benefits of Jack Daniels in the same way would certainly not gain my respect either. Plus he doesn't mention the 88 rehearsals.

Thanks Caputh - I really appreciate the circumstances of your opinion. I'm not quite done yet (another 40 pages or so) so I'll hold out before replying back on those stances (telling you that your opinions are wrong  ) Obviously joking there, everyone gets their own. But I hear you on the adultery. I perhaps lived in a different time but yes, all of these rock'n'roll biographies tend to have the ol' "so I married her, then I toured and nailed this and rammed that and bopped this one and then the bitch-back-home has the nerve to divorce me and take over half of what I earned! WTF?"

I didn't marry the guy but I have been getting a kick out of reading his stories...

Mrs.Plook got me the book and it arrived yesterday, she said its a birthday present so I can't start reading it until after my birthday... :smoke:

Well, it's after your last birthday, isn't it?
Sorry to hear about her surgery but at least she seemed better today. Cheers...
