Since Wilfred Bramble is dead, I think they should take the first person who comes into the room

I'll try to post photos tonight. Not sure on uploading Video to YouTube; as I do not own the content and have been in some hot water with YouTube in the past.

Kurt Morgan was on Bass.
Dweezil Zappa: Guitar
Scheila Gonzalez: Saxophone, Flute, Keyboards & Vocals
Ben Thomas: Vocals
Chris Norton: Keyboards
Kurt Morgan: Bass
Ryan Brown: Drums

We showed up at the time it said on the ticket (7:30), and Dweez informed us the first portion of the set would be a sound check. it was they did "Teenage Wind" "Harder than your Husband" into "Teenage Prostitute" during sound check, also "Cheepnis" pretty unorganized . Leading into The Roxy / Elseswhere set, which was mediocre. Shelia killed it, Ben was awesome also... Not entirely Impressive.

In the Variety article on the upcoming LA 200 Motels, Kurt Morgan is credited as Scoremeister. Was he already working for the ZFT before joining ZPZ?

ps thanks for the snaps, etc.

Ryan was great, not too flashy. His fills were clean, he is a good addition to the band.

I think Joe Travers is better, for multiple reasons. Anyone know why he isn't in the band anymore?

Yu're welcome. I got some really nice videos too. Be Bop, I come from nowhere... I don't know how to share them without committing copyright infringement.

Yes. See http://www.zappa.com/fz/aaafnraa/2010aaafnraaaa.html and http://www.zappa.com/fz/aaafnraa/2011aaafnraaaaam.html.

He also offered "lower case opinions" on Penguin in Bondage/The little known story of the Mothers of Invention.

I was there last night. DZ had a major clusterfuck/malfunction with his rig- said it happened in transport. That is why they did the soundcheck at showtime. You could plainly see he was very frustrated, as he should be. The drunk crowd didn't help the situation either, loudly becoming impatient. This made it even more difficult for Dweeze. I don't think he ever got it totally resolved.
The show was ok. I've been to countless ZPZ performances and not being a big 80's period fan was not too enthused with the second part of the show. His new promo vid sez there would be selections from WOIIFTM, Freak Out and OSFA, but nothing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LePxOFWzDMQ
I realize he has concentrated mainly on the mid 70's period (which has kept me happy) and also realize that it was inevitable that he eventually dive into the later stuff, but I was kind of hoping he would go more back to the earlier 60's stuff. Oh Well.
I was skeptical about his performing Roxy without vibes, but I think he managed to pull it off pretty well. As for Ryan Brown, he nailed it. A more than suitable replacement for Joe.
So don't save ur money, do go to the show.

Very accurate Cozy. You're not alone in being less that enthused with the 2nd half,
"Teenage Wind"
"Harder than your Husband" :were pretty good choices, and sounded great. (also both were played twice)

"Teenage Prostitute"
"I come from Nowhere": were done well; just not my favs

oh and they played Teenage Prostitute 2 and a half times

Muffin Man was good for a closer.
