(I always avoid publishing on-authorised stuffs links here, because the ZFT migh ban it... Those materials are much more valuable to bring them to that risk. Okay, the "office" might know about them of course, but bringin them here might be too highligted - but I might be wrong :-) ).

I'm also watching it for the first time now. The first 20 minutes were totally amazing. Thanks for sharing this gem!
Edit: It's getting even better now, what a violin solo 8) :D :smoke:

If Joe the Vaultmeister, or GZ or somebody else from the ZFT camp say to not post links to youtube videos of FZ's performances then I'll gladly edit it out of my post. I wasn't even aware of it's existence until mentioned on the previous page, which I'm glad they did. If tptb decide to release an official cleaned-up version with better audio, I would be more than happy to add this to my collection and buy it directly from Barfko-Swill.

I haven't really gleaned over the Zappa filmography lists on other sights in depth, but knowing this exists is pretty fricken awesome.

ZappaTube has been a thread for years. I think they would have done something by now if they didn't like it.

True that! I was in awe, approaching shock, when I got in on VHS in the 1980s by physical mail. It is a great show, despite the cold weather making the band make a few mistakes (and Frank even hurls them through the final bars once more just to apologize to the audience). But Frank's coat is just awesome!!!!!

As of the last time I heard this I have no idea where the mistakes were in that first performance of Cucamonga. Perhaps if I hear it again I'll notice.

This is GREAT fucking news, I have wanted a 73 Ponty show all cleaned up, nice and official.
I can not wait for this one.

The setlist on this should be excellent no matter what it is - based on the shows bookending this. Damn this is gonna be dynamite!

We show them what's on youtube and they take down what they want or can. Go figure the ZFT.

This looks to be awesome to the max!

I've been listening to a lot of the summer '73 band this week. And if the sound quality for the Helsinki show is even slightly better than most of the circulated shows from this band (most of them are B+/B audience recordings), we're in for a major treat! This has been a LONG time coming...

Why would they do? They have large database of youtube videos to report :)

I don't care what the setlist is for this, though I do hope it is a full show.
This is one of the most criminally under represented bands in the Zappa universe.

We don't know. Joe commented that Ian and Ruth play in the shows which suggests that both this shows this night will be represented, so most likely it will be at least two CDs.

I wonder if it will have cooler cover art than it's predecessor, or the same uninspired (in my humble, yet honest opinion) artwork :|

The cover art can be glossy photos of Gail's recent hemorrhoid operation for all I care, it's the music that interests me.

ZFT cover art (with only a couple of exceptions) has been crap since Frank's demise, starting with Lather.

So did 'Everything is Healing Nicely'. There are a lot more misses than hits, though.

The worst was "Buffalo".

For me the worst might be - none. They should get Roger Dean to do a comical cover.

Gimme a break, what are you guys, elitist? Cal Schenkle is Zappa visually or as close to it as Frank wanted his vision to be represented on album art. Frank got to music through art first. He didn't pick up a guitar until he was in his 20's and him and Cal saw eye to eye on album art, so I feel that it's the whole package and not "just the music" inside that makes FZ, FZ. Look at Freak-Out, it gets your attention if you too wanted to be a hipster back then.

It's a way of life. Not just music. The longer you live the more you find you enjoy this in Zappa's works. Many artist have fallen by the wayside, but Frank'll keep ya interested by more than "just music".
You Betcha'!
