I enjoyed it. Some of the audience participation stuff was a bit over long and I prefer AF's version of Brown Shoes but it was a very good album overall. Especially the title track, Fine Girl, For The Young Sophisticate (I like it equally to the Lather version) & Pick Me, I'm Clean.

I also started listening to Drowning Witch for the first time all the way through but I had to stop and go to work so I'll finish that later.

Right now I'm listening to TGW for the second time today.

Not an album, but a live track that I'm absolutely hooked to:

The Elsewhere Band's* rendition of "Pygmy Twylyte"! This is one of the few 1974 rewrites of 1973 material that worked**. The horn parts are addictive as fuck! Bruce and Walt Fowler are excellent. Big mistake getting rid of the brass section just days after completing the Elsewhere tour, Uncle Frankie! With the exception of early 1975 and the ZINY run, no bands would feature brass again until the very last, 1988 tour. Nobody arranged horns in the rock/fusion idiom better than Zappa!

* - The way I see it, Barry, 1973-74 run of bands can be divided into four phases:
Phaze One: Mothers with JLP (Feb-Sep '73)
Phaze Two: Roxy Band (Oct '73 - Mar '74)
Phaze Two: Elsewhere Band (April - May '74)
Phaze Four: Helsinki Band (Jun-Dec '74)

** - The opposite case is of course "Village of the Sun" which managed to travel from featuring that Hatfield and the North styled intro (which will probably be featured on the upcoming Mothers with JLP Road Tapes) to having incredibly corny C&W stylings in less than a year, or even barely six months! I think I take the Hatfield intro over C&W backbeat any day.
