If Tony Levin is in, then maybe Robert can convince Bill Bruford also. Whoever is in the band, I'll go.
I read this on fb while my iPod(shuffle) was playing Lizard. Freaky man!

That's what happens when you listen to Lizard.

Bill Bruford is my favorite Crimson drummer but that guy on the Lizard album is a bad ass.

Three drummers and zero Belews. I don't like those odds...

Sucks to be you MTF. I've never had a problem with any line-up Mr. Fripp puts together. There have been so many since the late sixties. You never know what will happen in the next 12 months, though. I've only seen The Crimson Projeckt live. I want to see Robert Fripp!

Looks like five of the seven members were also on the 2011 KC Projekct album "Scarcity of Miracles". While it's nice to see Mel Collins featured, sadly he only plays soprano saxophone most of the time, and it does sound like a bunch of soft noodling not too far removed from the usual smooth jazz suspects. Collins sadly isn't at his marvellous Lizard (on which he played alto/tenor/baritone sax and flute of course) self anymore. Obviously the new KC is not going back to the Lizard approach, but perhaps it will feature a heavier approach than "Scarcity of Miracles". And hopefully that means woodwind instruments other than soprano sax included as well.

Bruford is retired. Not gonna happen.

I jumped aboard the Crimson bandwagon with Belew and Discipline in '81 so Adrian's always been as big a part of the band as Fripp to me. I've gone back and listened to a lot of the earlier crimson too and I know Fripp will always be interesting but at this point the new lineup feels like another ProjeKct to me.

FRIPP: "There are no plans for the new King Crimson to enter a studio. They will play "reconfigured" versions of existing Crimson material."

I only hope he finds a way to add more OOOOOMPH to the sound exhibited on "Scarcity of Miracles".

A Scarcity of Miracles. An aptly named album.

Ouch. But, from the bits I've heard, I have to agree.

eh, I'm not a big fan is all but I certainly understand the appeal.
I saw the discipline band play twice...and it took me until like 10 years ago to finally buy my own copy of the record.

I saw them a few times as well, including their North American premiere at the Savoy Club in Manhattan.

It took me about 3 years to buy Construkction, because I was so dismayed that Levin and Bruford weren't in the band. One day I came upon a used copy and figured I'd give it a try and wound up loving it. Same for Power. Never got to see that band live, however, I did have a nice chat with Trey Gunn about that band and those albums.

Ah, thanks. I have only slight memory of the Savoy. I had an "in," didn't have a seat proper. Very fuzzy. A year later it was The Pier. That's fuzzy too. Didn't wait all day on the line but I was down front. I guess some friends hooked me up. I caught Fripp and his Crafty thing at a Central Park freebie, too. Don't know what year that was. Enjoy the Bartok. That T ceedee set is my go-to copy without a doubt. And be sure to pinch Bela's nose next time you find yourself on 57th St, nyc...

I will enjoy listening to a three drummers line-up. Is this absolutely unheard of before?

It takes at least three drummers to fill for one Bruford, indeed!

Tix went on sale at a time when I couldn't get the cash. I told a friend about the show and he agreed to get em and I'll pay back on payday. They were $90, 120 and 160. I agreed to 90 and his wife would order them when they went on sale. She logged on 1 minute after they went on sale. $90 tix were gone, so now I'm going to the show with $120 (+ fees) tix. A tragedy, of course. :)
