This is the last stop for 2013, I believe they've been going since January, but I'm not 100% about the start date.

Strange they do not list any of the previous dates on the site.

Every year I tell myself the same thing, that I'm going to slow down and see less shows this year. And every year I'm wrong and I wind up seeing as many, if not more shows than the previous year. And just to up the ante, this year I went to my first 3-day-long camping festival since 1982. I seriously need an intervention.

Anthony Bourdain? Man, you are an animal! Nobody's business if you don't want to share but how do you afford this lavish lifestyle?

I don't have kids. Don't drive an expensive car. Pay reasonable rent. Etc. Outside of my music addiction, I live fairly frugally.

I just scored a ticket for ZPZ, Dec.7th @The Roxy Theatre, Hollywood. Going on the 8th as well. Must stand in front of Kurt. It's been a long time since Feb. 2012.

I believe you missed one KU. I got to see it though. Nice to have a good violinist on a few songs, I hope he becomes a permanent fixture in FTLOF w/Ike Willis.
BTW: Where are The Tubes playin' next Wednesday :?: 8)

I have a ticket for the 9th of Dec. Roxy DZpZ show that I could use to part with...even though it breaks my heart to do so... My roommate walked in yesterday morning and said "I got laid off, goodbye, I'm going to stay with my folks for awhile". No warning, nothing, just laughing at the fact he owes me for the room for this month either way. Showed me my ph# was blocked too. Turned like a snake and it's all a joke on me. He told me it was all good on Fri. the 1st, as rent is due by the 5th and didn't show up again until the 6th. Nice guy eh? I gave him several breaks too. Then he'd complain about him paying more than me, when he's in the bigger master bedroom and has a covered parking spot. Since last March he only cooked once & BBQ'ed twice. I think he was embarrassed of this place and most likely me too. He acted like he was better than the rest of us peons. "and my folks retired in The Tahoe Keys" was his favorite line...that and Dale Schornac knows who he is...sorta'. (a channel 3 news anchordude  ) Man I heard those lines a lot. I'm glad he's gone but... what did I do to deserve such a fate? To borrow a line from Alice.
He's a dumbass redneck stoner trucker. Buy's that fetish pee to get past the drug tests. Think about that when you see these truckers going by. Most of them know when they have to give a sample so they purchase a clean sample from the local adult/head shop. $30 bucks an OZ for synthetic pee, get's you on the road and in the breeze.
Sorry, got off topic.
I won't be going to anything but "free" concerts until I get another roommate.

Thanks y'all, live & learn. The deceit is what gets me. I gave him all sorts of breaks, tips and offered help. Hell he borrowed $20 from me before he went back to work and paid it back last spring. He was just some flake who wanted to "use" a room but only pay for it while he's here. Like a motel. Resentment must have built up in his head over it. (btw every fucking diesel dummy I've known or traveled with keeps bottles of pee all around too)
So I covered myself rent wise. I had a feeling he just wanted to screw anyone he could. Smiling faces, y'all know that story. His trucking season is over so back to mom or sis and screwing Uncle Sam collecting unemployment until he has to stop leaching off whoever and goes to work...just long enough to rinse & repeat.(3 months a year) Dad must be proud.
Total tool time.
Now on to better things..... It'll all be cool. 8) Thanks again for the good wishes y'all.
Sorry for all the drama.

That sucks, K.K. :x

I can relate. I've had a multitude of people fuck me over, both in inadvertently and on purpose. It's a major part of the reason why I generally don't like people.

I hope you find a new room-mate soon...especially so you won't have to sell your Roxy ZPZ ticket...

Thanks DB, you called it. What hurts the worst is not having the bread to book a flight & hotel right now for The Roxy show. If I wait under 30 daze before show time, it'll cost me mucho much more, like $150-200 lost in savings, that's in two daze. (a real peach of a person isn't he? Could be one hell of a card player though) Plus I've looked around that area and a few more $$$'s gets you a lot more. I wouldn't mind staying at The Roosevelt sometime. I dig the architecture. 8)

If you don't think you'll get a new room-mate before the show, you might want to create of list of things to save $$$ money on. Like less beer, smokes, etc. It might suck for a few weeks, but it'll be worth it to see ZPZ at the Roxy!

Thanks DB 8) I don't smoke ciggies (fags), I grow my own herbs and rarely drink anymore. The only booze that taste any good to me are real thick porters like Sierra Nevada Porter, Anchor Porter, Pipeline Porter and Mad River Porter and once in awhile an Ale from Boonesville, CA., It's called Boontz. I might buy a six pack a week of the good stuff and there will be some left. I refuse to ever drink anything just for the alcohol in it! Yuk! Coors, Bud, Labbat's Blue, Corona, Tecate, are all water beers that are a waste of time & $$$'s and good hops. imho of course. 8)

EDIT: He came buy and asked me to mail his unemployment check to his parents. Didn't even offer a stamp.
I just checked the mail and there's a check from his place of work. Looking through the light it's apparent that he's not "hurting" for money once he gets that check. I'm sure he'll get himself a big toy for x-mas too. I'm seeing if I can put a hold on his bank account and check until I can serve him on Monday with a notice to appear in small claims court.
No calls on my new ad yet, this could be a tight time for awhile,... might even make for a less celebrated Zappadan this year!

All the best of luck, K.K. If you successfully get the money he owes you, you should kick him in the balls. Come to think of it, even if you don't win, you should kick him in the balls anyway...

I caught the Crowes in Milwaukee Friday night after not having had my fill from seeing them the Friday before here in Chicago. They are killin' it! If you think the Black Crowes are the same band they were a decade ago, you are sadly mistaken. They've gotten way more rootsy and jam-oriented. They're killin' it nightly!

Forgive me the lack of sentiment KK, but if you really want to get screwed out of some money by someone you lived with you need to get married first. : )
