A Token Of His Extreme Soundtrack

A Token Of His Extreme Soundtrack
ZR20015

That's right, it's the soundtrack to the DVD of the KCET TV show on August 27 1974. You've got the DVD so why do you need this? One reason is that it's Official Release #97. Another reason is that several tracks are considerably longer than on the DVD. Yet another reason is that this is an entirely different mix to the Dub Room Special CD which is taken from the same performance.

Tracklist:
The Dog Breath Variations/Uncle Meat (4:02) . Montana (6:44) . Earl Of Duke (5:49) . Florentine Pogen (11:08) . Stink-Foot (3:58) . Pygmy Twylyte (7:47) . Room Service (12:12) . Inca Roads (9:51) . Oh No/Son Of Orange County (7:10) . More Trouble Every Day (7:17) . A Token Of My Extreme (1:25)

Band: Frank Zappa(Vocals, Guitar), Tom Fowler (Bass), Chester Thompson (Drums), Ruth Underwood (Percussion), George Duke (Keyboards, Vocals), Napoleon Murphy Brock (Tenor Sax, Vocals).

Whatever became of Roxy by Proxy?

Sure, why not?
I don't really watch the dvd all that much, but the performance is great.

I guess that's one way to get up to the "promised" 100.

Having never seen the DVD, I was wondering if others out there can confirm what material on this new release is really new:

This is the track list for the Dub Room Soundtrack. I know some of this was from 1981, but which ones?

1. "A Token of My Extreme (Vamp)" 2:29 (Same as on the new release?)
2. "Stevie's Spanking" 5:54
3. "The Dog Breath Variations" 1.42 (Same as on the new release?)
4. "Uncle Meat" 2:16 (Same as on the new release?)
5. "Stink-Foot" 3:58 (Same as on the new release?)
6. "Easy Meat" 6:51
7. "Montana" 4:24 (Same as on the new release?)
8. "Inca Roads" 9:46 (Same as on the new release?)
9. "Room Service" 9:15 (Same as on the new release?)
10. "Cosmik Debris" 7:44
11. "Florentine Pogen" 10:13 (Same as on the new release?)

Track list for ToHE Soundtrack:

The Dog Breath Variations/Uncle Meat (4:02) . Montana (6:44) . Earl Of Duke (5:49) . Florentine Pogen (11:08) . Stink-Foot (3:58) . Pygmy Twylyte (7:47) . Room Service (12:12) . Inca Roads (9:51) . Oh No/Son Of Orange County (7:10) . More Trouble Every Day (7:17) . A Token Of My Extreme (1:25)

Yes, of course I know they may be longer edits of the songs, but I am trying to determine how many of these were previously completely unavailable on CD before. Thanks.

The code on that reads like disc #2 of RTV2. Matrix / Runout (CD2): TSI CA 1015863 DISC 2 ZR20015-2

I dont think this is real myself.

I'm thinking neither one should be "official".

Well, we haven't heard it yet. If it's a different mix with longer versions it might be worth checking out.

It just occurred to me, if Baby Snakes was 95, Road Tapes 2 was 96, and this is 97, was Roxy by Proxy planned as 98 the whole time, or is it not an official, or?

I can't help but feel like it was planned... They announced RTV2 as their their "next release" (#96) and then delayed RPB time and time again, and now ATOHE becomes #97, which I'm totally in favor of, but completely surprised by.

By the logic on this release, you'd think The Torture Never Stops DVD would've gotten its own soundtrack five years ago :|

Now this REALLY should be a cheaper downloadable thing. Remember: you can buy this CD in Europe for £21.80, while the DVD is only £10.09. Haha. Total business-failure.

(what would REALLY be interesting is to release the sound of the Torture... DVD (1981) with the complete programme of the 2 night, AND witout the terrible guitar-distorsion that makes the DVD un-listennable to me. This would make sense - the the 4th release of the very same songs here ('74), or "releasing" the Baby Snakes movie sound.)
