On this very day 20 years ago Frank left us. I'm using this day to celebrate his life and remember him. As well as his birthday soon.

Anyone doing anything special? I got a little playlist with lots of music I would consider most beautiful of his. Songs like Sofa No.1, Baltimore, Watermelon and so on.

Probably going to listen to Lather and CP3 in full too.

I'm hoping there will be some new documentaries released soon about him to mark the occasion.

R.I.P FRANK VINCENT ZAPPA

RIP Maestro.

Learned a lot from him and still am.

God, how many times I wonder, "what would Zappa say" miss his preach so much, maybe even more than the music, but then on the other hand

MUSIC IS THE BEST

I used to like Zappa's music but then when I started to see interviews with him and realized how smart he is and how he seemed truly alone in this world it made me dive into his music head first and become a Zappaphile.

Nobody has moved me and shaped the way I think so much.

I'm having Zappadan again for the 5th time: between Dec 4th and Dec 21st I'll listen to all FZ from Freak Out to CP3. If I have extra time I'll put a couple of FZ videos in the mix as well. Had FO and AF already and am now onto YCDTOSA 5/1. Decided to split up the YCTDOSA series since, when I did this for the first time, I suddenly had all of them left with only three days to play and still had a bunch of 80s albums (they're longer than the original vinyls) to go as well.
So... today's early Mothers day, tomorrow's St Nicholas, when I hope to do later Mothers, and Flo & Eddie plus big band will be for the 6th. Another complicating factor is that I will be volunteering on the 14th, am going to test chocolate. And boogie 'til the cows come home.

I am also listening to all the albums from FO to CPIII between Dec 4th and Dec 21st, in order of the original release-date. This is the 3rd time I'll do this.

Sharing this from Arthur Barrow's fb page -

It was 20 years ago today
Our beloved Zappa went away
He is never going out of style
And he's guaranteed to raise a smile.
Miss ya, Frankie!

I haven't been listening chronologically. Though I might do now but today I have already listened to about 9 hours of Zappa including a video of the 88 band playing live and the 77 NY show.

Currently watching lots of interviews from the last few years of his life, mostly talking about the 88 band, news, politics and his illness.

I always watch The Yellow Shark concert. This year we have a home theatre with a 12 foot screen in the work shop. I'm dragging my friends over to watch it. I'm glad it will be dark in there, I get a little misty at the end where he's sitting on the road case listening to the ovation.

I'm listening to everything on random play ripped into my pc. I use the pc as my stereo, so I don't have to handle my cd's all the time.

RIP Frank!

Every Dec. 4 to mark FZ's passing, I usually only listen to 1 or 2 albums. But not today. On the way to work, I listened to FZ Meets The Mothers Of Prevention. Commuting home, it was Over-nite Sensation. And right now, Freak Out! is playing. Later, I'll be listening to Hot Rats, One Size Fits All & You Are You What You Is...

Fucking hell, I miss Frank Zappa...

I try not to be sad that he's gone, but glad that he was ever here in the first place.

edit 1:Who could imagine what music he would have composed, especially with all the news that go faster , same for computers.
edit 2: anyway the computers will never go enough faster for frank brain
