What is with all the dates on the tracks? I thought it was all from the same show.

Those are the dates each composition was first released.

I call bullshit on a few of these. First of all, the "Dog Meat" medley may have premiered on YCDTOSA2, but it is still being listed as two tracks, both of which are from Uncle Meat, so they should carry the 1969 date. "Room Service" appeared on YCDTOSA2, so that should carry the date of 1988.

The only explanation that comes to mind is that GZ (or, for the ones registered when he was alive, FZ) thought the newly released versions were distinct enough from the old ones that they needed to be re-registered for copyright. Buffalo has GZ hints that this happened with the version of "Tinsel Town Rebellion" on that CD.

Ordered. The Montana guitar solo is good to have on CD.

***Gets excited to see those dates and thinks there's 88 band stuff on there, then gets disappointed that it's the "original release years", then gets excited again to see there's premier recordings and different versions than what's on Dub Room Special***

It's starting to make more sense what the "Grand Rights P/O" logo stands for on some of the UM remasters. In some cases we might see an expanded "Making Of" set(hopefully Hot Rats & Uncle Meat), but mostly I think it means there will or already have been new releases with overlapped material from the live sources, which isn't a bad thing. Some releases will just be more essential than others.
ie:
OSFA - Dub Room Special sdtk, TOHE sdtk
Sheik Yerbouti - HO
Orchestral Favorites - complete Royce Hall shows(one can wish)

I dunno. Gail likes to control the cd's, and we can only thank the lord that she decided to partner with Eagle Rock, get those dvd's out there at bargain prices. Otherwise, who the heck knows how it would play out?

I agree with that. I know some people weren't happy that they all weren't in 5.1, but I was happy to get them all at fair prices.

So guys, for clarification please: this official release of this audio CD has excellent sound quality...

As good or better than say One Shot Deal or Buffalo...?

True or false?

Thanks for your time

Did anyone actually buy this thing? I'm surprised no one has commented on here about receiving it yet.

I haven't bought it (yet) but have read some positive reviews on the Steve Hoffman site. One of the writers posts here too so he will probably contribute before long.

I GIT ATOHE. The mix is different, and I believe warmer to my ears. I hame not done A/B comparisons with Dub Room Special. Anyone want to do that??

I guess it means that it's the same as the Token DVD. Hm?

The front cover insert contains the following:

"Note: Yes, this is the same performance & master source as most of the material on Dub Room Special (CD). It is an entirely different mix."

Okay. Same performance. Same master source. Different mix.

I did not do an actual track comparison, but it does appear to be? The track listing is identical to the Token DVD.

Is the guitar solo on Montana longer? Hey, I have owned ATOHE on DVD but have not watched it yet...

The dvd and the soundtrack arrived today. I will open the package tomorrow on holy night .... uh is this kind of Mr. Bean behaviour ? ... Though I already got the bootleg vinyl for some decades and the movie too, which was aired on tv over here in the 70's, I'm still excited. Less moaning please ...

Yes  , got it today. Mix seems to my ears better than the DVD. Just an awesome no-brainer release. Don't think I'll go back often to listening to Dub Room CD, unless I have to hear Cosmik Debris or the two '81 tracks. Approximate is more a visual thing.

Well I just got it and I have to say it's the best "Pygmy Twylyte" version I heard so far.
