The catagory "weird' seems to be a contradiction of terms on a Zappa Forum, just thinking out loud... :smoke:

This band has several albums, is considered ... progressive in some places ... and is actually an interesting bunch of folks. They did a number of soundtracks for Georgio Romero films, although in some of the American versions of the films the music was taken down several notches and in at least one instance that I have heard (not seen it!), the part was cut out of the film.

There is a perception that a lot of this stuff and music will not be appreciated by most Americans that are exalted and spoiled with the Hollywood style of music and a lot of foreign films STILL get massively edited to make it dumber, and simpler for the supposedly less educated American audiences.

The only way to see these films in their proper versions is in Film Festivals or the (hopefully) remastered versions ... but I doubt that those will ever get a chance to be remastered.

In 1979, I bought "Hybrid Kids - A Collection of Classic Mutants". Loved it's strange music immediately.
While searching the web for a sample to post here, I discovered all the band names are made up!
It only took a little over 30 years, but I finally found out the whole album is done by just 1 person.
Here is one song from the album by Morgan Fisher (formerly of Mott The Hoople)

Yes, and yes. (I have "Miniatures", too. I bought it for Robert Fripp's contribution.) (Big surprise there, eh?)

It's not so much weird, but not really understood by my friends - and that'd be Prince. My Prince collection rivals my Zappa collection (in terms of CD's, DVD's, Vinyl).

I would post links, but uh, Prince doesn't want me to do that.

I will give you this, though:

Enjoy.

That was great. "Don't talk to me like I'm fucking Appolonia!"

The guitarist looks like he stopped by on the way home from his day job.

Aren't they great? I bought their album Adultery after reading a review in defunct metalmag MindView where it was compared to FZ, Primus and Mr Bungle. Got hooked, joined their MySpace... and a month later, the band broke up.

Caution: intense.
