Sorry to put this in as a separate topic but for 20 minutes I tried and failed to post in the Stroll down memory thread........very frustrating.

Anywayzzzzz....

I believe the girl in question first off is NOT Gail but is rather....Claudia Cardinale....a somewhat obscure 60's actress. I remember her being advertized in some cheesy flick as "the...WHIP...girl."

zappa who is so hippy.
underneath the hair you can find zappa, who is an american hippy and prophet of flower power and who believes in the power of flowers.
clauida cardinale is only there to rest your eyes on, when you've had enough of zappa.

the other picture is not zappa-related in any way whatsoever

Just watched "Once Upon A Time in the West" for the first time in my life and connected the dots back to these pictures. Cardinale was the female lead. What a great movie. Can't believe I missed it all these years.

*gasp* For shame! I saw it at the theatre in 1969, and it's been my favourite Western ever since. My friends, and I, were spouting dialogue from it for months after.
"You bring a horse for me?"
"Looks like we're shy one horse."
"No...you brought 2 too many."
Bang! Bang! Bangity Bang!!

(One of my top 3 favourite all-category movies, too.)

Zappa, a hippy believing in the power of flowers, that's fucking hilarious.

Wonderful pictures. Claudia is indeed a feast for the eyes, and so is Frank's Gibson. With three humbuckers???? That is not normal for their archtops. Anybody know if this was stock for some runs or a "mod"?

I had a look through my big book of guitars, and couldn't see one like it.
When did Frank start mutating guitars BTW?

I believe that was stock for the ES-5 Switch Master although Franks tail piece is a little different.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I suspect that guitar is a prop.

FZ did have a switchmaster but it was heavily modified with numerous knobs and switchs added...

Good point. Maybe the modding was added later. If they had a prop at a photoshoot, it would be a huge coincidence to have a switchmaster-style prop lying around. :)

I reckon (with no evidence to back this up) its used on lumpy gravy - the guitar in 'oh no' sounds like a big semi.
