^^^^^^^^^^^^^I wish. I even missed on the MegaMillions yesterday ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Anyway, picked these two at the blood drive at the Red Cross for WRLT yesterday (paid with my bodily fluids).

I don't buy CDs like I used to when people went to stores in order to buy things. Freaky right? But yeah, it used to be like that. And I certainly never bought cds in the way I used to buy albums. And by albums I do mean vinyl! I don't know if this happened to anyone else here, but a lot of the fun that I had sifting through, finding and buying vinyl records, I could never get out of looking through cds. The magic fell flat, face first.
I don't know. Maybe it's just me.

Anyhow, I just mentioned that to say that the this year I bought the total of four CDs. They are:

Sergio Dias - Jazz Mania Live
Sergio Dias - Mind Over Matter
Inkayco - Danza Meditacion - Musica Para El Alma (Andean folk music by Equatorian Indians - although actually it's what they sell to tourists under that guise) - [Inkayco is the name of the group and the titles translation is, Meditation Dance - Music For The Soul]
Tones On Tail - Everything

I love rock n roll but sometimes I stray a lot.

CK, hopefully the spirit of music buying will come back to you one day (my holiday wish for you, including a fat wallet to go with it).

I lost it for quite a while. When vinyl storefronts disappeared from the local landscape, I put off buying a CD player for ten years, because a CD was so expensive compared to an LP. I finally broke down when I could no longer find any new releases on vinyl, and I bought a CD player, a few CDs. Being a recorded music lover, I slowly started but it eventually turned into a landslide in the last few years as CDs, especially used, have become dirt cheap around here. I can buy a couple hundred used CDs for the same price as one new vinyl album. Next year, I hope to get my turntable back into operation after being mothballed for almost twenty years, just to listen to the vinyl I already have.

So, with restraint, this is what I got at McKay's yesterday.

Dir En Grey single called Filth. Or to be exact FHLTH since they misspelled the name of the song on the cover.

The Natch'll Blues by Taj Mahal is a great album. I love his first few albums, all recorded in the late sixties.

Giant Step (1968)
De Ole Folks at Home (1968)
The Natch'll Blues (1969)

The song Take A Giant Step was first recorded by the Monkees. Taj's version is alot less pop and truly inspiring. I would also recommend, should you not have it yet, The Rising Sons, which is both the name of the album and the name of Taj Mahal's first band. Recorded in 1966, it was only released sometime around the year 2000 or so, I forget exactly. Absolutely great, and from what I understand, The Rising Sons as a band preceded the Byrds.

Enjoy!
(As a matter of fact, I'm going to listen to my copy right now) :smurf:

Ordered this on Amazon with the 2012 Studio Tan in my honoured tradition (dating back to the first Ryko CDs) of always buying intriguing other artists along with every Zappa reissue...

A great way to avoid the Zappa desert island syndrome
