Decent...40f/4c. The snow is turning into fog...a nice scene for a bike ride...pink floyd weather, but it's gonna b Underworld, A Hundred Days Off...

The Jet stream has shifted it's dip west, so California is gonna get the clippers, and we should break the freezing mark every day for a while.

Hope that's it for the nasties this winter, good riddance winter13...

Ugh. I don't usually mind the snow and cold weather but even I have been complaining this year - it's been brutal. After reading your post, this doesn't seem so bad. Thanks for putting things in perspective, Poly  .

I guess it's in my blood. I was born in London. The last two times I visited there England was in the midst of winter and I loved it. South Aussie summer is brutal.

Schools closed here today. It probably won't even be slick when I go to work. They panic when there is a chance of freezing rain/sleet in TN.

They don't want to get caught off guard, like Georgia last week. :|

We got a little rain and when I say a little, I mean a little. A dinky amount, if it's even measurable. We're in a drought! :(

lol, famous last words the other day, that was two storms ago.

Snowblower laid down on me.

Not too cold though 24f/-4c, just a heavy slushy icy snowy wet mess.

Engineering to bridge, heard there might be a possibility, about 12 parsects out, of some relief for the di-hydrogen oxide shortage on the planet.

It's been raining here! Yippee! It's supposed to rain and have low snow, down to 1,500ft. this weekend too! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! And on Sunday, it'll mark 50yrs. since The BeaTles took the stage for the first time on the very big, big, big, Ed Sullivan shew. (FYI: Ed pronounced 'show' like 'shoe' or as I spelled it - 'shew')

I heard that the Beatles got there break here through Walter Cronkite who reported a story on the news, which a 15 yo girl heard, which prompted her to write overseas for a copy of "I want to Hold Your Hand," which she sent to a radio station in Washington DC who broadcast it.

part a) I knew that! I just came back from an overnighter and was excited to see there was measurable water in my shot glass outside. Almost two jiggers full!

Part B) I heard Steve Allen sneaked a clip on his show, which made everyone all the more curious to see them "live" on Ed Sullivan's show. Ed booked them when he saw all the girls at Heathrow Airport in the UK waiting on them as he was passing through.
I Wanna Hold Your Hand shot up the charts with a bullet and stayed #1 for 7 weeks. 8)

part a.) Yeah, I know...I couldn't resist Spock-o's line.

I wish they'd come and interfere with our prime directive!

Yeah, we got the ice too... all that...

"heavy slushy icy snowy wet mess"...

froze solid.

Preserved for days...

...supposed to break above freezing next Tuesday, that'll round off the sharp edges.

 Wow, hasn't been that cold here since '88-'89, when we were between 23o-32o degrees above zero, ooh! and der freezing your ass off for a whole week. Pipes burst all over. Figure in the wind chill factor (WCF) and we've never come close to how cold yous guys is! I've seen the pix. Looks like a blizzard I was in some where's around Bear Valley, CA where it was 20 below and a-70o below zero, ooh! reading with the WCF! "It confused me for a few miles, but I was never lost" ~ Mark Twain. It's still not as cold as it's been on the east side of The Rockies, not by a long shot.
Send long under wear and sox to disperse amongst those on out on da plains boss, da plains! Unless they're all snug in they're Little Houses On The Prairie. Ya, know? Where the buffalo used to roam...until the long knifes shot them all that is.*

* Shh...we kept some for Kevin Costner and Hollywood.

The UK was pretty much underwater when I paid a visit last week. Not so much ruling the waves as being ruled by the waves. It was nice, at least in terms of weather to get back here, where the temperature is about 10 degrees C and the air much drier.

I don't think we've gotten over 20 for the past week. It was 0 with a -30 degree wind chill at some time.

Snowed a little here last night. But it was only an inch or two, and has melted off already.
