The uncut version from the Berlin 1978 show is even better...

I know what you mean, JP. It's one of the first shows I got from Zappateers.

What about that Fifty-Fifty solo on OS? Was that edited or is that straight? That solo is sick. I wonder if it was played that way or edited together. Intense.

Rat Tomago was a revelation of the Sheik Yerbouti cassette back in '79 - an alien world of aggression and beauty - I still prefer the edited version. It's hard and perfect, like a diamond. I have similar feelings about the Sheik Yerbouti tango, from Little House I Used To Live In of the same show.

It's an impossible question, really - Gorgeous Inca from one of the birthday bundles is a new favourite, Ancient Armaments an old one. Do Not Pass Go, St. Etienne, ZINY Enema Bandit - there are so many greats.

I'm not even going to try to pick my favorites. They change all the time anyway. I like this list though.

The original Willie The Pimp LP version is fucking great too. The remix has some parts edited out that are spectacular.

I love ur list. The only other one that I believe belongs on this list is Pojama People. Other than that , it's perfect.
As far as the order from best to least (if there is such a thing) is:

RDNZL (Studio Tan version) (Hell, the whole fucking song is outstanding)
Pojama
Inca
Muffin
WIEH
Napkins
Carolina

And BTW, why is this subject even on this thread (TV & Film) anyway? Doesn't it belong on "Albums"?

As in the Ryko version? Because that sounds great to me. But if there is stuff that is outright missing I will hunt down an LP of it OR get the 2012 master. I kept the ryko over the 2012 for gumbo.

One of the best performances of ZPZ was CHE on New Years Eve in SF 2008 DZ hit the high water mark, Shiela and Ray Whites vocals were incredible, and my friends recorded it!

Just "Carolina Hard-Core Ecstasy" from Bongo Fury. Aside from that, outstanding list. 8)

The ones where the opening notes are really memorable - e.g. rat tomago, muffin man.
Most of zoot allures solos are epic, especially the titular track and torture.
Ocean / solution - any kind of pain (if its FZ!).

Obvious maybe but "Muffin Man" almost every version I've heard features a great solo!
