ya the booklet is a gem in itself really good breakdown from ruth. also i noticed on the roxy and elsewhere cd jeff simmons is on this cd. But hes not on the roxy by proxy. Im guessing that he was from the Elsewhere parts.

On the "Elsewhere" parts and "Dummy Up" (as a special guest).

Yup, one of my favorite lineups is when Jeff was in the band (not when Don Preston and Walt Fowler joined... it wasn't worth losing Ruth). We need a Jeff-infused "Andy" officially released, that guitar intro adds so much, though I really like "Something/Anything" from the Berkeley, CA show.

Was it the booklet that mentioned Dummy Up is from a rehearsal or did I read that here?

I believe Joe Travers mentioned it online once.

Mine is on the way (along with Helsinki 73 and 75 rehearsals)! Yeah!!!! Triple Treat!

Man, we are all getting old. Getting all upset about the shipment, and delay, of a physical CD.

But I want CDs - not computer files!

This band really could have done the definitive/ultimate version of Peaches and Regalia... two drummers, Ruth and George, it would have been really amazing...

Roxy and Elsewhere is Roxy, Elsewhere, Rehearsals, and Overdubs.

(And while this disc is great, the production quality between Roxy by Proxy and Roxy and Elsewhere is MASSIVE, with it being clear the latter was probably what he HOPED the band could have sounded like live each night... and explains why Ruth felt like she did at first... Regardless, hearing it "Naked" shows that it more than holds up, it's one of the best lineups of any band ever!)

Yes it says on Booklet, though don't mention Rehearsals.

It's the same band Roxy Video concert it's obvious what they sound like.

Should have this tomorrow, or Tues the latest. Been tracking the package this weekend. No wonder the Postal system is in financial trouble. From Virginia the package hits Michigan, then Ohio, then Buffalo, THEN to Rochester which is further east from where I live, then only to come back to my address which is halfway between Rochester and Buffalo.

My guess now is nobody on the planet know how many Nights where and the Roxy 1973.

1989 must be the first time Roxy was shown too the public ain't in Viva Zappa Book
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMaCjXL8bR4
Frank Zappa ,The True Story Of 200 Motels - dummy up

The place is empyt must be rehearsal though if i had too guess that is part of the 4 hour 3 complete shows shown on BS DVD.
Roxy Film 8/9/10 all the shows Roxy By Proxy 9/10?

YDTOSA vol 1 has Roxy 12th and YDTOSA vol 2 FZ Thanks hard core fanatics for corretion of some of the dates and places.
Even if there are sure cuts On Roxy & Elsewhere same as DVD could be the 10th.bULLSHIT

Pretty fucking awesome release, well worth the wait. The Cheepnis drum thing is outstanding :!: KK/Chungas/GG is great to have. Hearing the R&E tracks "warts & all" is pretty cool.
Ruth's notes are a nice touch, but a little too analytical at times. Interesting that this was mixed in '87 by FZ & Bob Stone. So FZ must have sorted thru this stuff before deciding what would be on YCDTOSA, and passed on these tracks. I'm The Slime & Big Swifty from Vol 1 are still the best tracks from these recordings.

Do not care that the FZ talking intros are tacked at the end of the previous track. When I'm listening to this at home, I'm playing the whole thing from start to finish. If I want to skip around tracks in the truck, I want to go straight to the song without the talking intros. So they did that right, as in previous releases.

Awesome release all around.

yeah the inca is a highlight for me too, further along then the proto-versions from 73 I've heard. This one sits nicely in between those and the released one as it has many of the "intricate" parts.. just lounge-ified... Love it.
