Regarding the curfew. Bullshit is the theme there. You believed that??
As it’s a fact, yes, I believe it.
I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but what’s yours that the band decided to not play longer for this one particular show? (actually a few shows seem to have this limitation).
It’s just a fact that some performers in some venues will stop a show by a certain time because then they get into overtime pay for venue employees. I’m not sure if that’s the case here or if because the place is in a residential area they have to stop live music by a certain time. Apartments are, literally, right across the street.
And you thought Napoleon was having fun in Zurich. I saw him 4 times over the previous 12 months doing 3.5 hour Zappa shows in very small venues together with Ike Willis, and all Napoleon did in those shows was sing, dance, chat like a mofo with the audience, play the sax and the flute, and again, laugh and talk with the audience.
Well, I have nothing to compare what I saw to. And a small venue performance will often have a special feeling over a shit-place like the Volkhaus.
Napoleon is in this for the money.
Well, I’m sitting her in my office for the same reason. But I give my work a solid effort.
(aside from screwing around with emails…)
Thanks for responding to my post. I obviously pushed your buttons which was not my intention. Each to his own.
No buttons were pushed, just comments back atcha. It just sounded like you had some very high preconceptions. I put no weight on what the show _could_ have been like, I went with a clear head. So I enjoyed it.
Anyway, I hope the Boston gig (also in a shitty venue) is more up to your wishes and expectations.
