Did you attend the ZPZ show at the House Of Blues in Anaheim?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

GREAT SHOW! Early on Dweezil asked if the audience wanted to hear “Billy the Mountain”. This night he received a positive response and he promised us they would be performing the song. Although I tried to shout it down, as I wished to here more material instead of a 20 minute piece, It turned out to be a real treat. The vocals shared by everyone in the band were really well done and brought back memories of Flo & Eddie. For an encore Dweezil agian chose to elicit an audience response by asking If we wanted to hear “Enema Bandit” or “Willie The Pimp”. Audience chose “Enema Bandit” but we were given both songs (to our delight).
This is what I remember as a set list, I believe the order is off:
Andy
Inca Roads
Village of the Sun
Cleetus Awreetus Awrightus
Why Don'tcha Do Me Right
Zombie Wolf
Lumpy Gravy
Billy the Mountain
Penguin in Bondage
Torture Never Stops
Peaches En Regalia
Illinois Enema Bandit
Willie the Pimp

WOW! What a fantastic show! This was my second time seeing ZPZ here at the Anaheim HOB, third time total. The sound was great, and the band was incredibly tight. I did see two problems. Aarons solo in Inca Roads it looked like something wasn't working because he was messing with something on the ground for quite a while towards the end. At the end of Illinois Enema Bandit Rays mic quit working. Other than that it was another phenomenal show by ZPZ. I really enjoyed watching all these fantastic musicians do what they do best. And Joe Travers, man has he become an incredible drummer! He has always been good but last night I couldn’t believe the licks he was pulling off. I could hear it at the Roxy show but couldn’t see him for the visual. Sheila was excellent as always. Billy, Aaron, Pete, Jamie and of course Dweezil were all fantastic. Ray White, well, what can be said that hasn’t been said already? He’s the best.
The set list posted by rprobler looks pretty close except they started with Purple Lagoon which went straight into Zombie Woof and then Andy. I can’t recall the rest of the order.
Great show, can’t wait till they come back around. If you haven’t seen them yet, go to a show. You will not be disappointed by the best damn live band touring right now.

Yes, I agree with Zigmeister about the order of the other guy's posted song list, although I'm not 100% certain about the exact order, but definitely he is right about the opener. I think if one just swaps "Andy" and the "Purple Lagoon" -> "Zombie Woof" it is pretty close, if not exactly correct!
I'm the silly guy in the front that those of you who were in the front might remember, who not intentionally, rather coincidentally happened to have a Black Napkin in my pocket and kept holding it up. Now this isn't really important since he didn't play "Black Napkins" anyway. (And even though I'm sure I've seen Frank play it, I very well might not have recognized it if Dweezil did)!
More importantly, although some of you might not remember that in the old days at Disneyland an E ticket ride was the group of the best rides. Well this show was THE REAL E TICKET RIDE! even if as "Willy the Pimp" might say Bitch better have my money, (just kidding)! Yes as I mentioned in my San Diego review and as you noticed Dweezil mentioned to us in Anaheim that some of these tunes like "Cletus Eretus Alrightus" may not have been performed by Frank, so as I expressed to Dweezil in San Diego how I appreciated that and he in turned showed us how he did appreciated our natural enjoyment of these as well.
I don't know if you know how they are in Japan, but they are going to probably eat Dweezil up over there when he gets there after finishing up in Northern California. That is that those Japanese are hounds for anything from the U.S. or Europe, be it anything from lame Disco (Michael Jackson), to Miles Davis or Duke Ellington or of course Frank and in turn Dweezil Zappa and indeed his all truly amazing band!

Wowie Zowie the band is thoroughly mind blowing,

Augy

Continuing my quest to expand ZPZ/Frank's audience..one person at a time. Brought my boss/good friend to this show, an accomplished guitarist and fan of all music genres. This great show did not have anything that he was familiar with. Nevertheless, he was totally engrossed by DZs playing and the complexity of the music. Score 1 new fan!

Highlights for me were Peaches and The Torture Never Stops, and of course, the band solos. The talent of all of these musicans continues to boggle, but I thought this was really Joe Travers' night. His musicality was reminiscent of Carl Palmer, but with total command of the complex rhythms and power ala Keith Carlock.

Thanks again everyone involved. Ive got to figure out how to make more than one show a tour!

This is the first time I had a chance to see a Zappa play since 1984, I cried! Increadable! I was able to see FZ 3 times live and now I hope to see DZ alot more. I can only imagine what DZ has for us in the future.
