Did you attend the ZPZ show at Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

yes I did attend the show, as I did last time they played

Enjoyed it very much!

Some great moments there I wish I could re-live again, maybe I will find them on yoo-toob somewhere...

Thanks to Dweezil and the gang for once again bringing Zappa to life (and to Adelaide!)

Cheers!

Great show guys.

I should start off by saying I'm not a hardcore Zappa fan with only Joes Garage in my current CD collection, but I'm going to have to get a few more albums. Great musicians in the band although there were a few songs that seemed to suffer in the Vocals, but given the recent departure I guess that is to be expected.

I was there photographing the show for http://www.fasterlouder.com.au and have also put a selection of my photos up in my own gallery for the fans to check out and remind them of the evening http://www.craftypics.com/gallery/7931895_yPhXU Enjoy them

Not such a hot show as in 2007 ( that one was absolutely brilliant ) but still highly enjoyable , the hall was about 3/4 full, possibly due to the absence of Steve Vai- a number of folks would have come out just to see him last time . Also we have just had a host of bands come through so there would have been competition for the available dollars, Jeff Beck, The Who, 5 Peace Band ,big competition at that !

A very appreciative crowd , mostly listened quietly and gave huge applause, EXCEPT for the old beany clad idiot next to me to said and did the strangest things between songs and clapped out of time on occasions, Only did it for a few minutes in total but it spoilt some of the show for me , so mate if you read this - you are a complete prat !
Dweezil was on song and played some great lines, as usual Schiela gave her all and played some tasty solos, as did all the bands members. The sound was pretty good but I must admit both times so far here there's been some room for improvement .

I missed Ray or at least the absence of a front man with charisma, Frank always had singers who had huge personalities , so without a Flo and Eddie or a Napoleon or Ray, there was a bit of a hole in the presentation that Schiela and the drummer could not fill. We enjoyed the short time that Billy came down front to sing and we thought he had the potential to fill that hole given the chance.
Still all in all, this was a great show no matter what and I'll definitely attend any shows that Dweezil wants to play here any time . Thanks for coming back and keep on coming PLEASE !

BRILLIANT! excellent to hear more zappa music with different songs from last nights concert. It seemed like the Adelaide venue was a bit more relaxed and chilled out, kind of like a big country town hall gig. As usual pure excellence on you and your bands behalf. So glad we had the oppurtunity to see you guys play again so soon. My youngest daughter is so into zappa music and Pete Griffin being her idol, she said to me why cant we go to adelaide and do it again. It was a spontaneous crazy thing we did and will both remember it forever. It really made her day at the end of the concert when you guys spotted her screaming "pete griffin, pete griffin". Im sure you guys enjoyed playing as much as the whole audience loved listening. Top concert,
Thankyou!
