Did you attend the ZPZ show at Olympia in Paris?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

Ohhhh Yes Thank You !!!
And thanks Ben for joining in in such a short notice. I just read Dweezil's post "New lead Singer ?". Well, you nailed it !!! After only 1 week of work.... Looking forward to seeing you next time in Paris !
By the way, if you can keep a "standing" area in the venue as it was first planed, we would highly appreciate to shake our booties and offer you some crazy dancing - and I speak for many fans here !

Simply awesome. The new singer is great, in a few more shows and with a little bit more material learned, he's going to bring a lot more energy to FZ's music (and there was already a lot of energy tonight).

Dweezil seemed a little stressed, the black page #2 bit him a little, and I don't know what was wrong with his pedals, but he seemed to be searching for a specific sound at the end of the concert, that kind of confused me a little.

I've seen all the other Paris shows, this one felt a lot more spontaneous. The band knows the songs, there's no anxiety from how the audience will respond (like the first Paris show), and the seats weren't as comfortable as the second show, so people reacted a lot more to the music instead of being mesmerized by the softness of the seat.

The dancing on stage was a lot of fun, Ben Thomas' "solo" was hilarious, please keep him ! I'm out of adjectives for the whole band, as usual, perfection, humility, fun.

I can't wait to see you guys again next year !

Thanks zpzzpz for your first post about yesterday's setlist.
Here is a more complete and corrected version :

on stage : 8:10pm
1- Apostrophe (')
2 - Magic Fingers
3- City of Tiny Lites
4 - Purple Lagoon
5 - Inca Roads
6 - Montana
7 - Village of the Sun
8 - Echnida's Arf (Of You)
9 - Don't You Ever Wash That Thing

Inter Miction : 9:07pm > 9:34pm

10 - Bamboozled By Love
11 - Dirty Love
12 - I'm the Slime

18 - Chunga's Revenge - with a Dance Contest and an extraordinary audience participation, Dweezil conducting the Olympia crowd

20 - Peaches in regalia
21 - Zomby Woof

Encore (10:49pm)

22 - Cosmik Debris
23 - Willie The Pimp

end of the show : 11:07pm

I'm pretty sure they didnt play Black Napkins or Wind Up... though I'd have loved to !

And if I may ask a little request here : please, pretty please, get the screen back and play with Frank again. I really missed that incredible emotion yesterday, though the ZPZ combo show was excellent.
I understand this is probably difficult to set up, technically, musically, and, perhaps mostly, emotionnaly... but it would have made an excellent evening absolutely perfect and unforgettable.

Great Great Great !!!

Awesome show yesterday. Congratulations to Ben for one of his firt concert. I suppose it's not very easy to jump into FZ world in few days. He did the job greatly. Nice dance contest on Chungas Revenge and thank you so much Dweezil for coming back in Paris Next Year (hope so). Last but not least A very big kiss to Sheila !!

I just wanna say Thank you to the whole ZPZ band !

My first time at a ZPZ concert was in Paris on 5th october in 2007 , I was a 16 year old boy
and I think it is a very nice idea to introduce Frank's music the way you do
'cause younger people are getting interested on it

I've bought ZPZ first DvD and watched it every single day since I bought it, a year ago.
Can't wait for the second DvD !!!

Thank you for yesterday's gig
Thanks for being such a great great band

Cheers & see you at the next concert !

Zak (lovesZAPPA)

Thank You so much to all of you. Thank you to Dweezil to be the way he is : calm, confident, open, friendly and such a good musician ! Thank you to Scheila, to Pete, to Billy (I would just have heard you a little bit stronger Billy) thank you to Jamie, to Joe. You were so wonderfull tonight. And, of course, thank you to Ben too because the performance was extraordinary ... (it's just unbelievable to read he began a few days before). I hope you will keep going and won't forget to come in Paris, even if the room is small (but good) because we absolutely need you. See you next time and have a very good tour.
