Did you attend the ZPZ show at BKZ Oktyabrskiy in St. Petersburg?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

It happened so that my father showed me the music of Dweezil's father when I was a boy :) So, listening to Frank's music since childhood, I've been waiting for years for this to happen! So this concert is an Event for me... Event with the capital "E" :) I guess you'll understand me if I say that it's impossible to find the words to explain my feelings. It was more than wonderfull, more than great, more than amazing... put together :)
The hall wasn't full, there were not many people; but I guess that's right, as those who came, really appreciate what Frank have done, and what you, guys, are doing for keeping this music alive!
The show was THE BEST I've seen! Indeed! At first Dweezil and the band were our guests, but after the concert it went quite the contrary: the musicians were talking to the audience, giving autographs, plectrums... [I'm not a hunter for such things, but I appreciate very much how it was done :) ] You know, such kind... friendly atmosphere :) People saw that it wasn't ordinary concert, but saw a band playing for THEM, and that's important!
So once again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! And believe me, it was the best band I've ever heard in my life... Hope to see you next time!

Alexey

If half-year ago anybody said, that I would get at concert ZPZ, I would disbelieve. If anybody said me, that I would collect the autographs of all band members, that Dweezil will give me his guitar mediator and handshake, I would decide that this man simply laughed above me. But happened just like this! I almost for 2000 kilometres arrived to St Petersburg from Simferopol (Crimean, Ukraine), collected all autographs, Dweezil gave me his mediator and handshake!!!
Excellent show, wonderful musicians!!! During "Black Napkins" tears appear on my eyes, during "Don''t you Ever Wash That Thing" my wife (has musical education) said that did not understand how they play it, and when "Willy the Pimp" played I was near stage and dance as a boy!!!
Thank you Scheila, Pete, Billy, Jamie, Joe, Ben, DWEEZIL and all ZAPPA FAMILY!!!

I was too impressed after the concert so forgot to say...
First of all, thanks a lot to frolik for the attachment! But it should be mentioned that the audience was
given a chance to choose the song! [I've never seen such things before :)] So the encore looked like: Peaches An Regalia / Willie the Pimp / Dirty Love :)
And one more thing...
Mikey, the Webmeister says Dweezil and the band love reading the reviews...
Well, than I guess, I'm not the only one who would like to read the bands impression of the concert :)
Hope there will be a new message in ZPZ blog soon :)

Thank you!

Well, that was just an awesome show that surpassed all my expectations and completely blew my mind!

At first it was a little bit hard to grasp - I consider myself a newbie, I started listening to Zappa's records only couple years back. :-) - but half an hour into the show I was enlightened.

Respect to Dweezil and all musicians, everyone is ultra-proficient (btw, I was really suprised to find out that the singer was hired just before the tour!).

Keep the spirit alive!

Hope to see you again some time soon! All the best! :-)
