Did you attend the ZPZ show at Buffalo Place in Buffalo?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

I just returned home from the ZPZ show in Buffalo. I am glad the weather held up this year, and we only had a little rain for the last 15 minutes or so. Once again, another great show by Dweezil and the band. Everyone played well, and their choice of songs was great. There is SO much a fan like me wants to hear, but how much can they play in 2 hours?
Dweezil gets better with every show. Scheila's performance was great as usual, and she really blew me and most everyone else away with that one incredible sax lead. She would have gotten a standing ovation if we weren't already standing! I don't mean to take anything away from anyone else, as they were all very, very good.
I know that FZ would be very happy. I hope that they tour for another 25 years !! I want to thank the band for keeping FZ's music alive, as that was his dying wish.
Hope to see you real soon. Keep up the good work. You guys (and gal) are awesome. ps- Scheila, will you marry me ?

How can you beat a free concert especially when it's Zappa plays Zappa. I had seen Frank many times in the 70's and 80's, I would say just about every time he came to Buffalo, I have not been to a concert for over 25 years so this is the one I picked to see after all this time. The day of the concert was my 13 year old sons Birthday, he is in to playing guitar and I got him into Zappa. We have been watching Franks and Dweezil's videos on Youtube, while searching around the web we discovered the tour dates. We saw the show in Buffalo and went, it was my sons first concert and I'm sure he will attend many more before he sees as good or better entertainment. We had such a great time at the show, I can't wait till next summer, Dweezil and the band were fantastic.

Hello Everyone and peace to all: All I can say is "WOW" about the ZPZ show I seen in Buffalo last night. The weather held up barely but it was nice a cool. I was about 25 feet center stage with a smiling grind on my face the entire show that just wouldn't and couldn't leave. They made it thought the technical difficulties at the start of the show like the ture professionals these great musicians are. I'm not sure which was my favorite or high light of the night I would have to say the entire show! But I must say "Outside Now" took me even farther than I thought enjoying myself at a concert can go, really. I have seen ZPZ since they started and haven't really missed any of shows in or near Buffalo or Ontario. I truely love this line-up without any of Frank's old players/vocalists (All be it all of them were great as well). I really enjoyed the new singers strength and tone of his voice, his energy was really cool as well, fantastic job! The whole band really cooks and pours there heart and soul out on the stage. Shela has taken on so much and many responsiblities with Aaron A. departing and I just think she did a super job. The whole line-up seems to be playing with a great sense of passion, urgency and dedication to some of the greatest music ever written. Of all the line-ups I have seen of ZPZ I truly hope this line-up stays together and grows on stage with eachother for years to come. Thank you Dweezil for being such a fine musician and playing your father's music and moving it forward in the future for all to hear and enjoy! "ZPZ = A great time for the mind!"

Peace: Smarty

P.S. Can't wait to see ZPZ next time there in the neighbourhood!

What an awesome setlist and performance! It was nice to see so many people enjoying the show -- people who would have never been exposed to the music if it wasn't a free outdoor concert. The new singer Ben is a good fit!

I uploaded 2 videos to YouTube from the concert, unfortunately the audio is pretty crappy from my camera.

WOW!!! Awesome - Brilliant - Amazing - Incredible - Outstanding! Only a thesaurus could better describe last night. This is my same review every time I see ZPZ. The sheer virtuosity of the band is indescribable and it only gets better year after year. Frank’s spirit is alive and well thanks to Dweezil and the gang. Ben’s voice is hauntingly Frank-like and was superb - what a great addition to the band. I know Frank would be proud! Keep up the good work and again…..THANK YOU for a wonderful evening.

Exceptional show! Third time with ZPZ. Dweezil and the band were as tight as ever and vocals were awesome. I must give a hoot to Jamie Kime--nice sound and great chops. Missing Aaron on keys, but must say I love Sheila. Special guest, Ben, was off the graph and must keep on rockin' Love the band and the tribute to FZ music. I will see you all again, so continue touring! All the best, Nick, John, Jeff, Tom and Jim (The June Bugs)

My second rainy thursday in the square watching Dweezil and the ensemble .... my 10th ZpZ show (lick me!) ... amazing show great set list, great crowd. Nice to see everyone getting an opportunity to shine during the show, Scheila amazing as always (and looking very good!!!), Jamie and Pete were just a joy to watch (and listen too) Billy you are the mountain, met Joe and his Dad before the show (cool) Ben was great and fit in well with the group, his antics added a bit of humour to the show (and yes humour does belong!) Stood in the front row and wateched Dweezil who just gets better and better with each tour, though I missed the twin FUCH's from the last tour .... no sound check this year :( .... sitting in Cleveland now waiting for the House of Blues Show!
YA music is the best ... spoke to Dweezil after the show ... Most of the early birds and front row were the same faces as last year's rain out .... great night in Buffalo hope we all get together again next year!

Thanks Dweezil and the ZFT for making this event possible .... hope to see you (ZPZ) back in Ontario Canada soon

not a groupie ... honest .....

Phil

It has been about 26 hours since the show ended, and I am still trying to absorb it all....The more I think about it, the more I realize how GREAT the show was. If I could, I would do a few "road trips" and follow them around for the next 3 or 4 shows, but I can't. Money is tight !
It was just an awesome performance by the entire band. They are SO tight and if anyone made a mistake, I didn't hear it. Once again, thank you for keeping the music of FZ alive !!!!!

Does anyone have the SETLIST that they can post here?? I know many of us would appreciate it.

This is the 1st chance I've had to see ZPZ and being a fan of Frank's music I was looking forward to it. I saw Frank in Buffalo several times and always walked away mesmerized and amazed by his talent. Thursday at the Square, I was hoping to see the magic one more time, that I miss so dearly since Frank went on to bigger and better things. Let's face it, when it comes to playing guitar, Dweezil is not Frank! But you know what? Frank would be very proud of the job his boy does preserving his legacy. His boy has become a man and has done a wonderful job of recreating the magic Frank once heaped upon us. You can tell Dweezil has learned from the best and has developed his own signature style of guitar playing as a result. I don't think Frank himself could have done a better job of picking a cast to surround himself with either. The players were right on with their deliveries and seemed to enjoy playing Frank's music to perfection. I closed my eyes and I felt like I was back in the 80's listening to Frank. Schelia,if I weren't already married, yowza, yowza, yowza, I fell in love with you. You are very talented, young lady! Ben, you are the new lead singer? Could have fooled me, it seems like you've been doing this forever. Cudos, to everyone else too for a job well done! Dweezil, you are truly a Zappa! I'll be looking forward to our next meeting... thanks for the memories!

Incredible show. The energy in the crowd really helped! Ben is a great addition (he got my daughter's attention)!

Pete was insane. He is so much fun to watch. Everyone was rockin'. All I can say is "Thank you, thank you, thank you." Seeing ZPZ shows is an out of body experience for me. I've never been happier! I'm so glad my kids get to experience it!

Thanks everyone, see you in Pittsburgh on Tues.

Kathy

P.S. I have Jamie's setlist, will post from home.

Mary Clancy goes up to Father O'Grady after his Sunday morning service, and she's in tears. He says, "So what's bothering you, dear?" nike tn
She says, "Oh, Father, I've got terrible news. My husband passed away last night." nike tn
The priest says, "Oh, Mary, that's terrible! Tell me, Mary, did he have any last requests?" nike tn
She says, "That he did, Father..." nike tn
The priest says, "What did he ask, Mary?"
She says, "He said, "Please, Mary, put down that damn gun...""nike tn
