Dear ZPZ,
First of all, I would like to apologize for the disrespectful audience in my hometown. My girlfriend and I asked a security guard to remove the person who repeatedly threw burning cigarettes onto the stage, but the security guard seemed rather apathetic. However, I thought the band dealt with the belligerent audience members in a witty "you can't fuck with us" sort of way. These degenerate assholes were vocally humiliated and mocked by Dweezil and Ben in a very hilarious display during "Inca Roads." I was also very appreciative of the band for not walking off the stage. I would not have blamed them for doing so. Instead, they finished their set for the true fans of Frank Zappa's music and for any new fans being exposed to the music for the first time.
awright, you heard right, this is the good part...
The band's performance was absolutely flawless. It was a real treat to hear one of my favorites,"Apostrophe," as the opening piece. I was very impressed with Ben, the new vocalist. His pitch was perfect, and at times, he sounded chillingly like Frank. As a guitarist, listening to Dweezil and Jamie perform was blissfully inspiring. The solo performances proved that this is the most talented group of musicians assembled in recent history. After all, they have to be in order to play this beautifully complex music.
Dweezil: Thank you for making it possible for me to experience the music of my favorite musician and composer in the most accurate way imaginable.
I would like to give a special thanks to Joe. Not only does he have killer drumming chops, but he took the time to speak with my girlfriend and I after the show. I have posted a picture that was taken of us after the show, and just for fun, I have also posted pictures of me wearing the same shirt with Gail and Diva in Lexington, KY last year.
Thank you!!!!!
