Did you attend the ZPZ show at Crossroads in Kansas City?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

The rain stopped, the clouds parted, the heavens cleared, and the big guy who smokes a cigar and speaks in German whenever it's heavy business said: Let there be Zappa. Wow, what a great show! I sang. I danced. I twirled. I even stomped my shoes on the crowd during Hardcore. The band is phenomenal, very tight and I could tell there inspiration comes from the love and admiration for Franks music. I could close my eyes and imagine it was Frank up there on stage. That is how true to the spirit of his performances this show was. The friend I took had little to no knowledge of Franks music. He was more then just amazed at the level of musicianship the band had. He said, that was the best group of musicians he had ever seen assembled on stage at one time. The dance routine during Black Page, absolutely nuts. How do you hold it together up there? All around top level show...hats off to all of you. Seen Frank twice and now the third time for ZPZ. Hope to make it to the Chicago show. Music is the Best. Thank you Dweezil for keeping the music and influence of your father alive.

on the other hand, i saw the show in a totally different light...yes the band was tight and dz played his ass off....sheila was fantastic....but the show started 1 1/2 hours late...they usually play a 3.25 hr show....only played for 2hr 10 min...i heard the security guards talking while i was waiting to get in the show (on time) that dz was sick and the show wouldnt go as promised so be advised....despite the abbreviated show there were many highlights....carolina hardcore was my fav by far....dont know if there were some tech probs but the first solo by jamie was way out of sync with the drums and bass...maybe his monitor wasnt working..ive seen him before and i know he has chops...anyway hella to you dz for your determination and devotion to what you do..i wish i could do something for that for my dad
have a good time being back home for a change dz
home is where the heart is

I don't want to come off as argumenitive, eric, but my ticket clearly states doors at 7pm. The venue website said show at 8:30. I am fairly certain that the band did not take the stage at 10pm! So I don't really get how the show started an hour and a half late. I have never seen a show at this venue before. Does anyone know about the local curfew? Being outside in the city limits that might have come into play as to why the band had to be off by 11:00.

Dweezil, I really couldn't tell that you were ill. You pulled it off marvelously. Solid show. Big thanks to the rest of the band hanging out and chatting and signing (Ben, Billy, Sheila, Jamie and Pete). Most interesting thing I learned last night: Pete, Jamie and Joe side project!! Cannot wait for more of that. (it's called Gryphon Labs and the EP is out now. Check 'em out on myspace)

Enjoy the two weeks off. Well earned.
Thanks to Glynn for the setlist and masterfully engineering the FOH mix.

this was my 5th ZPZ concert and i was blown away, as usual. They played their asses off from Apostrophe to Willie the Pimp, which were my two favorite songs of the night. Dweezil's guitar playing during Willie the Pimp was by far my highlight of the evening. Sheila played some amazingly kick ass sax solos and I thought Ben did a remarkable job singing. He had a low, charismatic, sultry voice and the ballet dancing was pretty hilarious. I also really enjoyed hearing Montana and Cosmik Debris. I have driven to Dallas, Tulsa and Omaha to hear ZPZ and will continue to drive far and wide as long as they continue to tour. My only complaint is that my father, who introduced me to Zappa, was not able to make it to the concert. Though I am too young to have ever heard Frank Zappa live, I consider myself extremely lucky to have had the chance to hear his music live on through Dweezil. Thank you for giving the younger generations a chance to enjoy his music live.
P.S. If anyone has never read "The Real Frank Zappa Book", read it! It is one of the funniest, most brutally honest, intelligent books I have ever read. Genius he was.

Hey, eric, it's all good. I drove from STL as well. Next time we should carpool. It was a crazy venue. Like they were playing at someone's backyard party. This was my sixteenth show and each time I've walked away thinking 'what a tight band, how can they get any better'. But, you know, each time they have.

see ya'll next tour.

ps- where were you Larry? I missed you and your wife. First show without you two in a while!

Went to the ZPZ at CrossroadsKC Saturday. Had no idea about the venue, and frankly was not impressed.(w/venue) The band and the performers were all excellent, as always, but probably wouldn't attend another show there. Saw ZPZ twice at the casino in KC, once in St. Louis and once in Omaha and all venues were much better/nicer, and had seating available. Not that I'm that old, closing in on 60, but standing for 4 hours isn't that appealing. Also the VIP section was kind of joke.? Oh well. If the band ever reads these posts, maybe you could make a stop in Des Moines once, then I wouldn't have to drive for 3 hrs. each way to see the band. There's a nice classic theatre here, "Hoyte Sherman Place" that would be perfect. Anyway that enough grumping. Show and music was excellent as always and can't wait till the next tour to start and come through. Thanks all.

Just got the email from DZ about the upcoming tour. 75 minutes?! Are you kidding me? I plan my summer around ZPZ shows, spend hard earned money to see ZPZ and re-live live FZ music, even take flights out of town to see shows - well at least I did for the last three years, at a cost to me in the thousands of dollars, and now you hook up with some other bands and YOU are not even the headliner? Are you kidding me? I've got tickets for three shows this year, do you offer refunds? I'd really rather not fly to Chicago to hear a 75 minute set of ZPZ sandwiched between "angry music" bands. What are you thinking? I've been to crappy venues, traveled THOUSANDS of miles following ZPZ since you started touring and this is how you evolve? Are you kidding? I should have waited until another DVD came out. Sat next to your father-in-law in Chicago last year, nice man, glad it was the first You Can't Fit show, at least I got my download. ZPZ not even headlining, I am in a state of shock. I don't doubt the ZPZ music will be great, I don't recall Frank ever having a warm up band or being part of some multi group tour. You're ruining the whole damn thing! Not even headlining! Are you f-ing kidding!? If you want to get the music out to the younger crowd stick with the open festivals.

Eddie, are you kidding me? Sorry Dweezil I can't make any of the up coming shows on the next leg of your tour. Yes the reason is the other bands. If you were coming to Omaha I would go. 500+ miles to the nearest show not for 75 min. of music. Zappa music is the standard by which I judge all other music. Nothing comes close. It is stand alone. Accept no substitutes kinda music. You understand all that I'm sure. So I'll guess that this is an attempt to show your stuff to an younger large audience that would otherwise overlook your dads music...mmmmh. Just last night told a few friends when asked who was the opening band?? I said, Zappa concerts as far as I know have NO other bands that open for them, ever!, except a few in the early years. In 1984 I had the privilege to meet your father back stage here in Omaha. I had him sign my backstage pass and asked him if I could take him out for a hamburger. Well... he declined, but he chuckled. That was great moment in time for me. That back stage pass and a photo of me and your dad is also signed by you Dweezil. You have an off date Aug. 24. In Chicago Aug. 23, in Denver Aug. 25, you will pass through Omaha on I-80 on the way. You probably can't do a show here that night...wishful thinking. So I have to ask can I take you out for a burger? Once again the show was great. Peace, out. Erich

constiipation drug , http://elegantlivinglingerie.com/ - vardenafil 20mg Given that it will add more spark to your bedroom time, its not too much trouble asking that you go down to your local drug store and get some, with a prescription of course. levitra pills The outflow of blood is slowed down and this accumulation leads to the expanding of the spongy tissue (corpus spongiosum) due to blood. cheap levitra To better understand that, it?s better to have some knowledge of how an erection happens.

natural narcolepsy medicines , levitra cost Now, the question is why you should not take Levitra. buy vardenafil - If you are forbidden to have sex as it is a potential health hazard for people with heart problem, the drug may worsen your cardio vascular complexity. http://billy-mays.com/ - buy cheap levitra If you forget a dose, just skip it and continue according to the prescription.
