Did you attend the ZPZ show with Dream Theater at Thomas Woolfe Auditorium in Asheville?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

Saw the show tonight in Asheville. What an awesome show!! I have been a Zappa fan for over 20 years but never got to see Frank live. This was, I imagine, the next best thing. I had 2 guys with me who were previously unfamiliar with Zappa's music. Both now want to be immersed in FZ. The musicianship was breathtaking. The set list was great. THE best show I have seen in years!!

just a thought or two, pound for a brown and king kong, both killer tunes, Idea, bands solos over thirteen and twenty-one would be killer too, also holiday in berlin full-blown too thanks dweezil time for new (older) stuff, music is the best. And, p.s. tour alone more, jes sayin. regards.

This was a wonderful show!

It was the only act that didn't physically hurt my ears. We finally just left when Dream Theater was playing - the pain was too great and their music was well, kinda boring. I mean for being progressive and all it just seemed to do the same thing all of the time.

We brought binoculars so were able to see the band. The level of ZPZ musicianship was incredible! The "interpretive dance" was great until the spotlight quit working and we couldn't see Ben for a while. I just couldn't believe the music though, that is a tight fun band!

I'd like to see a longer standalone Zappa plays Zappa show. I'd also like to smack the lighting people for not doing a better job.

By the way, don't think that other Zappa tribute bands would take anything from your show - I hate to think that my band couldn't do a Zappa cover...

I'm a relatively new Zappa fan, only a few years into this whole thing and I'm still discovering new (to me) parts of Frank's vast discography. Let me say that this was, for me, one of the most amazing musical experiences I've had the good fortune of witnessing.

My only disappointment was that ZPZ was not the headliner.

I was pleased to see, as the night progressed, that the amazing performance wasn't mostly lost on the prog/drone-metal head crowd, and by the end of the ZPZ set I think a shit load of new Zappa fans were created.

Hell of a lineup, Dweez. Maybe next time I can see you do a jazzy version of Black Napkins? That lady with the sax was unbelievable!
