Did you attend the second ZPZ show at O-EAST in Tokyo?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

OK Adamski you beat me to the punch with the setlist...
(a roadie got me one from Joe's drumkit I think).

Didn't see last night so I will compare the show to the Tokyo/Yokohama shows last year. First Black Napkins seemed a bit crisper this time around (Dweezil seemed a bit cautious with this piece last year). With Magic Fingers the band gelled and confirmed my theory that this band gets better as the night progresses. BTW I think Sheila really showed a lot of mettle...basically covering for Ray White after his sudden departure. Two Thumbs way up!!! Montana was fine, though the interplay with Frank on the video was entertaining last year (his spirit will always hover in these shows so let's give the devil his due). Skipping down to Dirty Love...nice job! I'm wondering if someone in the Band might attempt "The Poodle Lecture." Now to the crux of the biscuit. Well kids, it was I yelling for St Alphonzos at the beginning of the show. Dweezil teased us with "maybe later...maybe not". (I also asked for Ms Pinky but that's a different story). Anyway, I was pleased that they played tight full versions instead of a medley. Nicest version I've heard since a Tower Theater show I attended in the late 80's. As for the encores...Peaches sounded nice but was a little muddy...had problems hearing Billy at certain points. Willie the Pimp was the savior, nice long jam with decent Beefheart attitude in the vocals And after the show I had a nice time talking with Dweezel, Sheila, Billy, Joe.....

Yokohama Dave

PS ZPZ should stop in a few days earlier next year and check out the Kawasaki Fertility Festival featuring transvestites carting a palanquin bearing a five-foot pink penis while chanting "Big cock" among the cherry blossoms and though the streets during which girls of all ages watch the festivities while sucking on phallus-shaped lollies.

I must say I was getting worried about what would be delivered without having Aaron or Ray there, but all seems good! I must ask, Sukeroku, how did you go about getting the roadie to get you a setlist? I'm going to the upcoming Melbourne, Australia show and, unlike last time, plan on running up the front as most people do and asking for a setlist. Incase I don't make it in time, did you ask a roadie that came out after the band had gone and Dweezil was still hanging around signing autographs? I just want to know about what to expect:P
Cheers,
Callum

I really think that the Band is on a mission after the latest departures...actually I was expecting more stripped down versions of pieces or maybe a bit more of the Zoot Allures period stuff. What we got was a very tight band, though they are going to need a vocalist. For example, I liked Joe's drumming but his vocals on tunes like "Montana" were not quite up to snuff. Sheila on the other hand, as I noted earlier, really belted it out, but I think her pulling double duty...maybe even triple duty will eventually wear her out.

My strategy for getting the set list was a simple polite request to a member of the crew on the side of the stage while everyone else attacked the middle. It took them a few minutes to pluck one out but I just hung out patiently while everyone swarmed around Dweezel and the other members and eventually got my set list. Dweezel is really cool and patiently signed lots of stuff and chatted with everyone. It looks like Adamski asked someone from the mixing board which looks like a sound strategy (sorry about the pun).

Excellent pun :P Well i'll try my luck with the roadies if i'm not able to get it any other way. I haven't heard them with the smaller lineup but i know the vocal dept. will be lacking.. Scheila is amazing though:P Thanks, Callum

A man was hit by a cab in the street. He was brought to the hospital. His wife who was standing up by his bed, said to the doctor: "I think that he is very ill." "I am afraid that he is dead."said the doctor, nike air max tn

Hearing this, the man moved his head and said: "I'm not dead. I'm still alive." "Be quiet, "said the wife. "the doctor knows better than you!"puma chaussures

An airliner was having engine trouble, and the pilot instructed the cabin crew to have the passengers take their seats and get prepared for an emergency landing. nike tn

A few minutes later, the pilot asked the flight attendants if everyone was buckled in and ready.nike shoes nike shox

"All set back here, Captain," came the reply, "except one lawyer who is still going around passing out business cards.nike air max nike tn
