Did you attend the ZPZ show with Dream Theater at San Jose Civic Auditorium in San Jose?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

Location: Watsonville, CA?
Was it just us, or was it hot in there? ZPZ cooked as always and I have to say that we weren't really interested in the other bands and lacked the stamina as we were sweaty when we left. I loved the segue of Montana into side 2 (vinyl I say) from Roxey & Elsewhere; Village of the Sun, Enchida's Arf and Don't You Ever Wash That Thing? We like Ben and his voice is a good fit. We were upstairs stage right and there were some weird acoustic things in that location, we could hear the vocals, percussion, top end of Joe's drummage and of course the sax (oh yeah!), also the higher end of the keyboards. The really low material came through as well, but the lower mids were mush. When Joe would roll around the kit the floor toms were just kind of a roar although I could see that he was playing the notes. Same with Pete's sound, a lot of it was there but then he'd hit that zone and it was mushville. Same story with Billy although we could hear the Xylophone very well, some of his instruments were lost. It was probably better on the floor as the ZPZ sound crew is the best in the business. Nice variations on the leads Dweezil, you make it look easy, in fact you all do; the result of a lot of hard work. We'll see you next time for a full set...please.

I have to agree with Roscoe54 on most counts. The sound was very mushy and I was on the main floor center. It didn't do the band justice. I had seen them at the Roxy and the Rio and this show was a little disappointing. Not from the band's performance but from the venue. I suppose for heavy metal, blow the doors off DT it works, but for the more nuanced ZPZ it didn't come through as it should.

I was very impressed with Ben. He's certainly picked up on the essence of the music and is keeping it at a very high level. Scheila. What can you say but Fantastic? Her talent is just unbelievable. I liked Pete on Apostrophe. I hadn't heard that in years. But it was first and since my ears hadn't quite adjusted I don't think I got all of it. I think Jamie has really come into his own. Joe looked a little tired at the beginning but as the show went on he picked up at full pace. But ZPZ does that to you. As the show progresses the energy level rises and rises. Billy had a great marimba solo, and yes, it came through really well. DZ. No words to describe. Watching him play is mesmerizing. Just when you think it can't get better it does. I tried to stay for DT hoping that Dweezil would join in but it was just too loud and frantic. I guess I'm just getting too old.

The screens were a nice touch. Since the sound didn't capture that tight, intricate performance it was captured in images. Not the same, though.

I think they've accomplished finding new interest in Frank's music with DT fans. Absolutely no surprise.

ZPZ. I hope to see you on tour again soon.. If possible, smaller venues and go it alone. You're just too good to share the stage.

The family seated in a restaurant had finished their dinner when Father Called over the waiter.
"My son has left quite a lot of meat on his plate,tn requin" explained Father, "Could you give me a bag so that I can take it home for the dog?" nike tn
"Gosh, Dad!" exclaimed the excited boy. "Have we got a dog then?" nike shox
