Did you attend the ZPZ show at Jam Cruise 2010?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

Our family saw both shows on the Jam Cruise. It was unbeleivable! Sailing around the ocean on a beautiful ship with a bunch of beautiful people who made us feel very welcome, as i think some of the people new we came from Australia to especially see Zappa plays Zappa. As usual they were brilliant and we think Ben fits in just perfect! Heaps of favorite songs and some new ones including Sheilas performance of a Zappa oldie 'you diddn't try to call me' was just beautiful. We love Zappa plays Zappa and this is another memory that we will never forget.
Lots of love The Findlay Family

zappa on the high seas, just amazing ! my newly married wife and i had front row seats reserved by the boat, thanks. i had asked dweezil to maybe be my best man, he said if he had time he would. he ended up not having time. i got the better end of the deal when it came to getting ready for the wedding. i watched zappaplayszappa's sound check with the findleys and the wife was up in the cabin doing girl things. went and did a musician wedding (rev. george potter jr). then off to zappa. dweezil said some nice things yours truly, introduced my wife and i to the crowd and then dedicated the set to us. thank you zpz.
the next night, the wife and i watched the show with pete and dave from back stage. and yes it was cold. over all, zpz gave my wife and i gift after gift of memories and the time of our lives. the jam cruise was alot of fun. zpz did not get on the boat until georgetown, cayman island, once zpz did, we started to have even more fun. i highly suggest the jam cruise. i met several fans who came just to see zappa just like we did. the band thank us for coming out to the shows.

One of the highlights of my professional career as a cameraman was on JamCruise8. A good friend of mine is the producer for the on board videos. Knowing my love of music & shooting music, he has asked me every year to come along to shoot. Every year I have turned him down, not being a fan of rolling cruise ships & sharing a cabin with other crew guys is not my idea of a fun.

Then I saw this JamCruise line up & Zappa Plays Zappa was on it! There was no way I would miss an opportunity to see ZpZ. I have been a huge Zappa fanatic since I was 8 years old & first heard Uncle Meat. I never missed an chance to go see Frank. I was very excited when I first heard about ZpZ. Been lucky to get to all the South Florida Shows (except Dream Theater).

First I went to the rehearsal & got to see the guys trying to deal with the rolling stage (as I was suffering a bit too) & it was fascinating to watch them stop & discuss a part & go over it again to get it perfect. The encyclopedic knowledge of every note & nuance known by both DZ & Joe. I was very glad to have a chance to meet Glyn (by the way), the talented & friendly live sound mixer, & lucky guy gets to hear the band every day.

I was allowed to shoot only the first couple songs during the first show. Then I just kept my spot in front to see it to the end. The entire show was GREAT! About an hour later I was shooting another band & then had to move to the other end of the ship to shoot something else. As I left the auditorium I ran into Ben & Billy out in the hall. Both recognized me from shooting up front & we got into a conversation about some old blues or something... Its a blur as I was in a bit of shock that they wanted to talk to me! Then they asked me if I knew where the Jam Room was. I just happened to be going there myself, so the three of us walked the length of the ship yakin away the whole time. When we arrived at that room I was surprised they were in no hurry to leave & we stood around for awhile longer still talking about music. One of the things we talked about was the upcoming show in Ft Lauderdale the day the shipped docked back in port. I mentioned a dilemma that my 14 year old son, also a huge Zappa fan is too young to get in to the venue. Billy gave me his cell number & said don't worry we'll make sure he gets in... & he did!

Later I had a chance to meet Dweezil. He had heard about my son and also told me he would make sure my kid got in!

Not only the most amazing group of musicians, playing the most fantastic music... but a bunch of great people too. I wish I could attend Dweezilla this summer. Those able to attend will find out just what good folks they are.
