Did you attend the ZPZ show at the Hat Factory in Richmond?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

There were a lot of good vibes at this show. It was mellow and kind of understated. The crowd was decent and the seatless venue added another measure of intimacy and connectedness to the event.

Highlights for me were: You Didn't Try to Call Me (Philly '76 style; Scheila was fantastic), Road Ladies, Keep It Greasy, Dumb All Over (Billy was ultra smooth), and a killer encore performance of Muffin Man.

After the show, it was either Billy or Joe (Billy, I think) who crumpled up his set-list from the night and threw it into the audience. I snatched it (didn't wrap anything 'round my head though)! Jamie and Dweezil autographed it for me too! (Those autograph sessions take patience and care on the part of the performers; it's obviously not something that they have to do; so, it's really something special that the band and especially DZ will do that sort of thing; it means a lot. Thank you.)

Here 'tis:

Jones Crusher - segue

Echidna's Arf - segue

It was incredible. I am only 22, but have been listening to Zappa for as long as I can remember. When I was real young my Dad would sit me down and say "Just listen to this". I remember hearing classics like Doreen, Inca Roads, Po-jama People, and many others. Dweezil and the rest of the group are doing a wonderful thing. More young people need to realize what great music there is out there and how readily accessible it is. Unfortunately, most do not. Thank you for keeping FZ's music alive. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

Hey people - here's a link to the blog review I wrote for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. I'd copy it wholesale, but I'm afeared I'd be messing with their exclusivity or something. Suffice it to say I'm a fan. Thanks for coming back Dweez and company - you bring it, Richmond will continue to come. Richmond luvs it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
