I have watched ZPZ two times now.Last year at the Rothbury Festival in Michigan and now at the Harmony Festival. Two different crowds even though they had similarities in that they were festival crowds. It's interesting to me to see the crowds reaction to the music. Especially the young people who have not been exposed to Frank's Music like I have.I am 48 and bought my first Zappa album,Sheik Yerbouti in 1980. At both concerts the set had to be cut short a couple of songs because of a late start. No one at either concert seemed to care, but it's nice to see and hear that it really matters to you.Dweezil was clearly a bit frustrated when the band first came up on stage to play."we are going to try to play some music for you"... but the crowd was totally engaged and excited by the middle of the first song. Peaches en Regalia is a great song to start your set with...! I have to say that what you have set out to do is working. This amazing music is sooo fresh to these young ears (and old ears like mine!) and I heard several great comments from people I asked questions of.A friend who I was with at the festival has wanted to see you all for a while and finally did, said that it exceeded his expectations "by a long shot"and he wanted to see you again soon. The lady selling your merchandise the next day,who appeared to be in her 50's had never listened to any Zappa said that she was really happy that she "got to see the amazing show last night" and said that she had "never seen such an eclectic mix of music in her life." Yes, everyone was stoned....festivals are like that, but I am happy to see that as this new wave of musical sounds kicks in and everyone seems to be trying to find something a little different these days, there is Zappa Plays Zappa,.... turning heads and ears and inspiring those too young to have experienced Frank's genius when he was still among us. Thank you all for playing that amazing music for us and I hope you all got enough sleep on the long drive north to Eugene. Have a great tour, see you again soon! Respectfully, David Morley
