Did you see ZPZ at the Roseland Theater in Portland, OR?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

ZPZ was fantastic. This is the first time I've seen them and I am new to the Zappa material. As a musician, I was blown away by every band member! We were in the balcony stage right, a great view of the stage, and it sounded pretty good considering our location on the side of the PA speakers. In the center of the balcony the sound was perfect, loud but not a head kill. The set list varied quite a bit from the Eugene show. They didn't play Cosmic Debris or Stinkfoot and they introduced several songs as new. Overall just a great great show, THanks ZPZ see you next time!!

While ZPZ displayed incredible musical talent and ability at Sunday nights Portland show, the band (especially Dweezil) looked and seemed VERY TIRED. Still, Dweezil's guitar playing continues to improve and impress and the rest of the band were very good. Great selection of material with lots of new (to ZPZ) stuff played. The new members of the band took some getting used to. The new keyboard player was impressive, the new vocalist and percussion player were not. Overall, I have mixed feelings about the show, mostly because I attended the 2008 Roseland show that was filmed for DVD, which was one of the greatest concerts I have ever attended including the 12 times I saw Frank play in the 70's and 80's, so expectations were very high.

I had a lovely time. I really enjoyed the new band members and the general, somewhat mellower vibe. Of course, you can't help being mellower if Stevie Vai and/or Dale Bozzio aren't around. Even the Roseland was less uptight and heinous than usual.

I should add that Blessed Relief was so incredibly beautiful it brought a tear to my eye. And I'm old and cranky.

Does anyone have a set-list?

Thanks Dweezil and co. Y'all are amazingly talented and hard-working. Come again soon.

The show was amazing. Frank's music rules! The musicianship was outstanding, as usual. This was my third ZPZ show, and I look forward to my fourth! Here's a list of songs I remember, in no particular order.
mystery roach
what kind of girl do you think we are?
daddy, daddy, daddy
blessed relief
little house I used to live in
yellow snow
purple lagoon
inca roads
big swifty
easy meat
pick me I'm clean
keep it greasey
muffin man
blue light
city of tiny lites
advance romance
latex solar beef
lonely little girl

I'm missing several tunes, help!

thank you Dweezil for a great evening!
