Did you see ZPZ at the Westbury Music Theater in Westbury, NY?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

Tonight's show at Westbury theater was an awesome show!

I have never listened to [or liked Zappa songs in the past - sorry] but I caught ZPZ on YouTube playing Cheepnis and I was COMPLETELY hooked. My husband had over 50 Zappa albums was stunned and happily starting taking me through all the albums. In turn, for our anniversary, I bought us ZPZ tickets. So to put it mildly, we are home now and still rocking out to Zappa tunes. The show was energetic, powerful, sharp and fun! I highly recommend it! And I am not ashamed to admit that I when I got home I went online in search of more show dates in NY.

Last nights show at Westbury was INCREDIBLE!! I woke up wishing it was still happening. I was a bit dissapointed on the smaller crowd turnout but it turned out to be one of the more energetic crowd interaction shows of ZPZ that I have seen. This was number 5 for me. Dweezil and the band seemed tight tight and played and sang so well. We even had some go-go girl dancing going on LOL and a real nice little guitar "guest" appearance by a 17 year old fan that played guitar real well. After last years Brookhaven show where ZPZ wasn't the headliner this show was the way its supposed to be. And Dweezil at the end hung with the audience and signed many autographs and he even answered my question on if Flo and Eddie will be part of something next time around. and his answer was YES!! ahhhh its good to be alive. I heard from Flo and Eddie that it might be just a show at the Beacon but I'm pleading with Dweez here and now to try to make it a Westbury happening too. THANK YOU DWEEZ for keeping it going. And thanks to the band members for being so good. And its always nice to see Sheila do her thing :~) MORE MORE!!! .....Steve M..........and i just had to add that i was getting actual chills and rushes hearing the Joe's Garage stuff. It was all sooooo good...and to the poster Rick who posted after me - Keep going to the shows. Dweez and the band has done many tunes from Overnight Sensation before so u just gotta keep going to these shows.

Wow, that's all. WOW! What a show! I used to see Frank every Halloween in NY eons ago, and it was just awesome seeing Dweezil & Co. It was my father's day present, and it couldn't have been better.
I have seen probably over 400 concerts, and I can tell that this band REALLY ENJOYS THEMSELVES onstage. 3 hour show! I truly believe that if they weren't smacked with that 11:00 curfew they would have played another 1/2 hour or more.

Pete NAILED the Gibson EB sound (much to my surprise on what appeared to be a Fender) on Apostrophe and his solo just blew me away! Jamie is great, and Scheila is just delightful to behold. This is a band of keepers. All of the solos all night were just dripping with goodness. It was great seeing Dweezil playing more guitars, but that SG just gets to me.

"Lonely Little Girl" (from OIIFTM) was completely unexpected (but really enjoyable), and the arrangement was brilliant. (Howsabout working on "Mama" from that album, hah?)

I died a little inside when they left the stage having played NOTHING from one of my all time favorites "Overnight Sensation", but then for an encore we got a "not on the paper" I'm the Slime, and I was happier. (Not as happy as I would have been if we also got Montana, Dyna Moe Humm, or Zomby Woof, mind you, but still very happy.) I don't know if the band could tell, but almost the entire audience chimed in on "I'm the slime oozin out from your TV set!"

Bringing 17 year old Evan up on stage was maybe the coolest thing I have seen. (Ya THINK he will ever forget THAT?!?) And... he was GREAT!!

I too was disappointed by the turnout, (it kills me to see what drek sells out arenas) but the audience was VERY enthusiatic and appreciative.

My 15 yr old son LOVED it! We were on the ramp aisle, so he got so he got to high 5 most of the band. I saw him looking up Zappa stuff on YouTube yesterday. Nice.

Even my wife, who never much talks about a show afterwards, said on Sunday (out of the blue) "Wow, they were really good last night." That's huge, people. Huge.
(She REALLY enjoyed hearing Dweezil sing, by the way.)

I have to say, for my first ZPZ concert i'm blown away by the quality of the musicianship in this band. And Dweezle is such a class act, not only does he let some kid come up on stage but hands him his personal Gibson Les Paul and lets him take about a 2 minute solo during a song, dont remember which one it was but the kid shred that solo like it was cool. Then there was this lady that Dweezle called the lady in Orange and she kept comming up on stage and dancing during the last few songs. Overall the concert was truly amazing and because of how Dweezle said "The Spinning Stage in Westbury" theres not a bad seat in the whole place. Cant wait to see them again soon!!!
