Did you see ZPZ at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax, NS?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

the Cohn was a great Venue for this show. Thanks for the show, the on-chore songs were my favorite Zappa songs when i was young so they were a treat to hear.

Second best concert I ever attended.
First was also here in Halifax, back in the 80's, some guy named Frank.
Yes I have lived and seen shows outside of Halifax! I must say this was a musical highlight I never expected. I did not do my homework deliberately. I had no idea what to expect but as long as there was FZ content I was going to enjoy it....I am still reeling from the intensity of what I just heard. The band has some astonishing talent and the gear was a treat. So nice to see the vintage guitars, amps, and keyboards. Give that woman a big fat raise.
It was soooooo trippy to hear the songs played note for note. I have loved the original compositions for so long that I am happy that no-one succumbed to the temptation for the "re-mix"...thank you so much for keeping it pure. They are big shoes to fill but I think you have done it. When you come back trhough Halifax I will bring lots more people to the show. Loved it, loved it, loved it.
Looking forward to your next show in Halifax.
Brigit

Wow, what a way to finish this leg in North America, this show in Halifax (with almost the same songs than in Moncton yesterday) was far better. Well maybe it's only because the Encore was my all time favorite : Wild Love segue with Yo Mama.... but the interaction with the crowd was more intense and much more funny than yesterday.

Have a nice tour in Europe guys and I hope I will see you in Montreal next fall, playing Canarsie where everyone look the same....

Thank you Dweezil for night after night doing authograh and pictures with the fan, after an exhausting performance.

And as a special request for next show: I never saw Ray White singing this one, but besides, I think Ben Thomas is the only one that could nails "Doreen". BTW I wonder why Ben didn't want me to leave with his "secret sheet note" on the floor..... maybe next time ;)

"Don't save you money guys, Go to the show" !
Arf!

Where to begin - unbefreakinlievable! It was such a joy to watch and hear these great players. I'm not a huge Zappaphile and probably half of the material was unfamiliar (though I was giddy to hear "Advance Romance") and probably wouldn't notice if it wasn't played exactly as FZ wrote it. Simply getting to see these eight monster talents on stage playing this kind of material, however, was a bargain at $65. Jaw-dropping solos, insane arrangements ("opaque melodies that would bug most people") and yet so much fun - performers and crowd alike.

From the Dept. of Nitpicking: Ben's vox and DZ's guitar were a bit low in the mix (I was 12 rows back, directly in front of Scheila).

Kudos to Dweezil for hanging around post-show for photos and autographs.

Thanks for coming to Halifax!!

I thought this was a fantastic performance. Being only 27 I am still very new when it comes to Zappa music. I started listening to Zappa when I stole my Fathers strictly Commercial CD when I was attending junior High School (grade 8ish) and have liked him/them ever since. I then got turned on to Joe's Garage and thought it was a brilliant album and was also turned on to Hot Rats and was also as impressed. I hate to say it but I was unfamiliar with a majority of the songs played that night, but thats not to say I didn't enjoy it. From start to finish Dweezil and the band had my undivided attention and my ears were peaked for maximum listening.

I describe it to my dad (who couldn't go because he was away on business) as a Musical Buffet for the Ears. truly intense. There were even a few times that I felt like I was tripping out and getting sucked in to the music. My vision went in to almost tunnel vision and I could only focus on the notes being played. I was completely sober, so to experience that was quite different =-)

Dweezil and Band do come back as you are always welcome. The Rebecca Cohn was a great place to play and is always one of my favorite venues. I told my girlfriend who was with me that I could watch that 1000+ times over.

Anyway Just wanted to say thanks and great job!.

Also I was wondering If anyone could post the set list from That Night. It would be truly appreciated.

Thanks Again.
