Did you see ZPZ at Brighton Centre in Brighton, UK?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

This was the second time I had seen the ZPZ show, the first was during the first tour and the level of performance is as awesome today as it was a few years ago. I was in my own private heaven since I was in the company of three of my closest friends and also fellow local band members. They had no real experience of FZ's music so it was a personal thrill to listen to them wax lyrical about how utterly brilliant the music and the whole show was and how incredible the musicians were. I'm a FZ veteran of 36 years and now feel I have added three new members to the Zappa appreciation society, may it keep growing. I saw FZ at the same venue in the eighties and it brought back amazing memories. Thanks Dweezil & company for keeping his body of work going and enabling old and new fans alike to benefit from it.

A memory from the evening that I'm delighted to share is the fact that we went to have a quick drink afterwards in a little pub round the corner from the centre. Somewhile later a few members of the band wandered in and sat down. All the things that I have mentioned earlier plus a few others were things I should have been able to relate to the band but instead like a giddy schoolboy I found myself unable to speak as I stared into the face of the very attractive Scheila. Brilliant! At least one of my friends was able to mobilise herself to get the autographs for me!! Thanks to the band members for signing my ticket!

A great night, keep it going! Thanks. (PS, I'm currently researching Dragon Master!!)

I would say that this was the single most significant musical event of my life and I am forever indebted to Dweezil and his band. The musicianship was like nothing I have ever witnessed before and to hear so many of Franks pieces played to perfection was truly humbling.

About five years ago a very good friend of mine introduced me to the music of Frank Zappa (I'm 36 and didn't know about Frank in my youth) At first I was unsure but with time and attention!(it's important) I came to the realisation that Frank Zappa was some sort of wizard who had the golden key to the deepest recesses of my emotions as through listening intently (it's important) to his compositions I came to know myself as I had never done before. I immersed myself in his music and pretty much listened to nothing else for about three years , to say I became slightly obsessed with his music would be an understatement. I thought I was weird for a while but I soon came to find others who were like me...

I also learnt about the man himself and what he stood for , in short Frank Zappa took my world and turned it on it's head and his music made the music I had listened to in the past, that I thought was great, seem like mere child's play.

He also made me realise what a load of bollocks the music industry is and that how almost all mainstream music is merely a product designed , formatted and marketed by some 'record company prick'
I was really into Jazz before Frank (still am) But even some of the Jazz that I had assumed was out there and free of music industry restraint was also a package designed with a particular market in mind.

As I didn't get to see the great man play live seeing the concert in Brighton was a moving and thrilling experience and completely reinforced my love and admiration for Frank. To here the music played live by none other than Franks own son with such an incredible group of musicians was truly astounding. I was moved to tears more than once and after every tune I kept thinking there is no way that the next piece is going to top that , oh how wrong I was... Also I have to say, Dweezil you'r guitar playing has exploded , you are incredible!

Thanks so much to everyone on that stage and anyone that ever had anything to do with Frank Zappa be them fan, family or friend and thank 'Frank and Gail' for the Dweez!

If you come back to the UK next year I will make more of an effort and attend at least two concerts as one night was just not enough.

Peace.
