Did you see ZPZ at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

Saw ZPZ last year in Edinburgh and last night's show in Glasgow topped it!!! Brilliant set, top class musicianship and great sound! Echinda's Arf, Yo Mama, The Blue Light, Keep It Greasy & Big Swifty were highlights!! As a bassist, I gotta say Pete Griffin was amazing last night - that bass solo was awe inspiring!!

Picked up the Dweezil Zappa - Return of the Son of... CD too - great stuff!! I'd really like to see the ZPZ shows recorded and made available after the show if they come back next year. It's a terrific line up and there were so many moments last night that I would love to hear again.

Thanks for coming to Scotland again. A fantastic set. Blue Light was immense, great job by Ben Thomas. It's a sporran not a bawbag by the way! Great to see Sheila and the band enjoying themselves up there. I never imagined the sound would be so good when seeing them for the first time last year. Looking forward to next time. Thanks Dweezil.

I was first introduced to FZ music around 15 years ago when my tradesman at the time gave me a cassette tape which had 5 songs on it, Florentine Pogen,Inca Roads,Sofa,City of Tiny Lights and Baby Snakes. I played these songs over and over until I could get the chance to go buy some FZ CD's.Being at last nights gig at the Royal Concert Hall you can imagine how happy i was that 3 of those 5 songs were played along with many of my other favourites.
Last nights performance was nothing short of amazing and the crowd loved every second and it seemed Dweezil and co were having just as much fun entertaining us. Highlights for me were Montana,Inca Roads,Apostophe,Latex Solar Beef and of course Florentine Pogen. The one song which i seemed to hear everyone talking about coming out of the venue was Wild Love which was also truly superb and following it with Yo' mama was just dynamite!!
When I first heard about Zappa plays Zappa I hoped that they would find time in their busy tour to stop off at Scotland and eventually they did and I was also lucky enough to see them last year in Edinburgh but to play in my home town of Glasgow was special for me.So if you guys get to read this please please please come back in the future lol.
Dweezil allows us to hear Franks music played live and and for that I thank him.Along with the band of incredible musicians he has put together Dweezil creates a masterpiece of a show that no FZ fan should miss.
God bless Frank and God bless Dweezil for continuing to do what he is doing and long may it continue.

P.S. the saxophone Chick is hot!!!

ZPZ were outstanding in Glasgow last night and the Royal Concert Hall was the perfect location. Having had the priveledge of seeing Frank a couple of times I wasn't sure if the concert would have the vibe of a Mothers gig. Boy was I wrong. Dweezil and the band have cracked what I thought was impossible, and created a monster of a gig with virtuoso performances from every member of the band. Ben Thomas is an inspired addition to the line up and provides a huge slice of FZ humour to the performance, Scheila Gonzalez is such a brilliant multi instrumentalist and what a babe too. I would have liked to have heard more solos from Jamie Kime though. Dweezil was a credit to the name he is obviously is so proud of. What shines through like a beacon is his mission in life to spread the gospel according to Frank and he certainly gained even more younger disciples in Glasgow. The band also add a new vibe to the songs which is so refreshing. Congratulations to all the band members and the sound crew for the excellent mix out front. Please, please hurry back.

I was lucky enough to see Frank a couple of times in the late seventies. I hadn't seen ZPZ before, however I went the Glasgow gig hoping for a good concert. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. It was infinately better than I expected. Dweezil, I hope you and the band visit Glasgow again. I will be first in line for tickets. Thanks for a great gig.
