I was there. Performance was great, but should was horrible. My son guessed that all the pots where turned up to '11'. Sound was fully saturated with the drums cracking. I thought it was just me (an old guy), but my son and the 20ish guy next to me both had fingers in their ears! Fire your sound guy.

I agree that the Return To Forever set got louder and louder as it went until I had to put in earplugs, but the ZPZ set sounded wonderful and clear to my aging ears. It’s really too bad that the sound man insisted upon making true Frank’s old adage about audiences demanding the ‘ultimate pumping of the rhythm section’ by pushing the sound up and up continually during the headliner’s set. It’s needless and irritating. Oh well ….

Despite all of this, the tandem set was one of the best sausage fests I’ve attended in years. I only wish that the entire show had been Zappa Plays Zappa. I was just settling into the band when their set ended.
