YES, I DID GO TO THE SHOW TONIGHT!
And what a show it was! I am drained now and will just ad what I have posted in my bulletin on "MySpace"
Oh and ad that even though I had the pleasure of thanking Dweezil in person I want to say it one more time THANK YOU for bringing this great show to us! Thank ALL of you in the band! Also, I did have the great opportunity to do just what Dweezil had been hoping for, I took my 15 year old guitar playing son along with me. We had SUCH a great time! At my death bed he will be looking at me and we will grin one more time for having had such a great memory to share! As a father, I could not help but think the entire show how proud Frank would have been to be seeing and hearing this show! What a tribute to his music and his life! What a great thing for any son to be able to do. I could write all night, but have to get to bed now. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!
<<Subject WOW! Zappa plays Zappa tour!!!!
Body: Just got back from a grueling ride in the rain from Atlantic City. Three hours to get there in rush hour traffic and about three hours home, due to the torrential rain. Worth it?!?!?! YOU BET!!!!
I would turn around right now and drive back if they were going to come out to do even just ONE more song! I am not a believer, but if there were such a place as Heaven, then SURELY Frank would be looking down right now with the biggest grin on that grinning face of his! Dweezil has put the "Eye Brows" on it tonight!
WHAT an incredible show! I was lucky enough to catch it with my best buddy, my own little guitar ripping son, Jesse. We had grins on our face all night, except for when out faces just turned to plain jaw dropping awe! These guys (and girl) were simply AMAZING! If you have a chance, you HAVE to catch them! Only the last show in these parts will be in NYC on Halloween.
Dweezil is an unsung hero on the guitar himself and just an incredible player. Top that off with Steve Vai and him BURNING up those necks and Terry Bozzio on the drums with Napoleon Murphy Brock on vocals and sax and you would swear you could see and hear Frank walking about the stage! The rest of the band was just out of this world too. You would think that they have been playing this stuff for 20 years together!
I could go on and on and on, but suffice it to say that as great as they were, a very humble Dweezil stood on the stage and signed autographs until everyone that wanted one GOT one! We got ours! He was very friendly and talked with all of us too. Always seemed like a real nice guy and now that is confirmed first hand. We JUST missed catching Steve Via as he went to loose some money in the casino too. He got past us about four feet away and disappeared into the crowd. We tried to find him for a LONG while, but had no luck. Remember it IS a casino and luck is not there that often!
GO SEE THIS BAND! I have been hitting the concert scene for 35 years and can't recall a show that out did this one! I made a living with my guitar in my hand for a LONG time too and know a thing or two about playing. These guys make me wonder if I was ever playing a single note though!
