Thanks, I'll take a look for that. I had picked up a recording from the Manhattan DSM show that was pretty decent. I saw Waters in Chicago in 1984 (with Eric Clapton on guitar) and really enjoyed this one as well.

Longer audio sample here...

http://www.bestsharing.com/files/ms001190423/R09_0001%20mp3%20128%20kb%20sample.mp3.html

This sample is raw/unedited, and reduced to mp3.

Walking toward the Palace, a fine place to see a show by the way, I realized what a bunch of good music I was about to hear, and I wasn't disappointed. Saw FZ twice in late 70's at Louisville Gardens, and like so many others, wasn't sure this idea would work. But it does. Frank and Gail raised a nice boy, that Dweezil. Unpretentious, but plays a fine guitar. All the band members do the music well. I think the kingpin is NPB, though. I last saw Mick Jaggers dance all over the stage about 30 yrs ago and was not as impressed or entertained as Napoleon's antics last night.
Interestingly, I thought the show was advertised about as much as any, in contrast to another opinion. And I wasn't disappointed by the place not being "packed", maybe the far reaches were empty. But the crowd was obviously pumped from the get-go.

Just opinions we overheard from several Louisville natives. We are from Evansville, and of course the show was not promoted at all here.

Support for the underpromotion comments that we overheard are further backed up by the lack of anything "ZAPPA" on the Palace marquee!

Just advertising a Seinfeld show several days old, and Tisha's 20th birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tisha! WTF is the marquee space for ZPZ? :x

T'was a fine show, agreed!

PT I know what you mean about Napoleon. Energy, energy, energy!!! He was drenched in sweat. As far as the number in attendance I just don't want them to pass us by if they tour again.

Great pics Rob. None of the pics from my phone turned out at all.

Thanks Buckwheat, I too had several pics that did not turn out so well. Once again, the venue security guy who decided to post himself just a few feet away from us limited our "audio/visual recording for posterity" abilities.

My only concern (like you) as far as attendance is that empty seats = possibility of no return engagement.

NMB was a real treat, he looks to be very healthy and in great form!

It would be great IMHO if ZPZ could/would record shows from the mixing desk and offer them for download as lossless flac files. Many groups are doing this (Pearl Jam, Pixies, King Crimson/Robert Fripp etc), and if the group already has websites or forums set up, it would quite easy to set such a thing up. It's all a matter of bandwidth!

Can't wait for the Dallas show in two days. Have read nothing but good reviews. So picture taking is ok? Any warm up act?

No warm up act in Louisville. With the length of the show, no warm up is needed IMHO.

Picture taking not o.k (nor is audio/video recording  ). I saw lots of cell phones taking pics, and also saw security take one mans digital camera.

Back when the tour first started, Louisville wasn't on the tour list...I was going to go see it in Cleveland but then found out that there was added dates due to the success of the tour...Thanks God for that!!

Dweezil was amazing doing his Dad's style and songs justice, I wish there would've been more Vai and Bozzio, but they both proved their point...Matter of fact, that's the 5th time I've seen Vai and I don't recall him ever being that ferocious on the guitar..He was in rare form...

I'll go back when they come back...I never had the chance to see FZ, but now I feel like I have!!

I am also glad they added Louisville VooDew5, it is quite a stretch to Cleveland, and St. Louis is a bitch to navigate.

I hope ZPZ returns to Louisville very soon.

While watching the show, I couldn't help but think that no other band in the world has this caliber of musicians on one stage. Only they could pull off Frank's beautiful compositions. I commend Dweezil for bringing the show to Louisville. Being a native, I feel that many touring acts pass up Louisville because of the stigma placed on Kentuckians that we're too conservative for anything outside the mainstream. The majority of Louisvillians do not fit this stereotype, but we're too often overlooked by cool touring acts. I thank you, Dweezil, for giving me the opportunity to see my dream concert and for exposing many others to Frank's music. Even my mother, who came with me, is now a full-fledged Zappa fan. The show would have sold out if it had been promoted half as well as the fucking Bob Seeger concert on the previous night. My only hope is that 'Tour de Frank' returns to Louisville. I am 23 years old, but I was first exposed to Frank's music by my guitar teacher when I was 18. It completely changed my perspective on music and life. Frank gives you a new pair of eyes, and you begin to see the world differently. I've been inspired to practice my guitar even harder...just in case Dweezil ever needs to audition guitarists! I have some cool pictures of the show that I will try to post soon.
