Did you attend the ZPZ show with Dream Theater at Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

you bet i went to the show , along with my brother , my nephew , and 2 of his pals. once again totally blown away, not only by the songs , but by the musicianship in the band. i went to the show 2 years ago when zpz played at the jub. in edmonton. i've been a fz fan for 40 yrs. now , and i'm so glad that dweezil is out doing this. i never ever did get to see fz, but dweezil i hope you never stop doing what your doing. it's to bad that when bands like this come to our city , and the turn out is shitty, but the fucking mindless people here will sell out the commonwealth stadium to see a fucking over rated, under talented, fuck like kenny chesny. that blows my mind.any way i hope you make it to edmonton at least once a year. b t w joe travers can fucking play.
thanx your pal coxsaw

Scale the summit - they didn't really do it for me. I thought they were good musicians; however each song sounded very similar. On a scale on 1 to 11 - I'd give them a 6.

Big Elf - I was quite impressed. Kind of a heavy-duty early Genesis type of sound; definitely worth checking out. I intend on buying a CD. On a scale on 1 to 11 - I'd give them a 8.

Zappa plays Zappa - This is why I went. I saw Zappa two years ago at the Jubilee and still think about how great that show was. The only disappointing thing about the ZPZ set was that it was too short (roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes). Dweezel - please, please come back again. Jamie Kime's solo during filthy habits was one of the highlights for me - Kudos Jamie. I also enjoyed Willie the Pimp, Village of the Son, Inca Roads and Peaches. I really can't say enough; the professionalism, stage presence and talent were top notch. ZPZ blew up the bridge!

Dream Theater - I lasted a couple of songs. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for the DT’s talent, however they’re just too heavy for me. It seems to me that DT has drifted from being a psychedelic rock band to a heavy metal band? I would compare them more to Metallica then to your typical progressive rocks bands such as King Crimson, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd etc... Anyhow, like I said a talented band, just not my thing.

Peace

Amazing!!!

ZPZ blew me away!!! Of coarse that why i went to see ZPZ!!! Honestly i have never even heard of Dream Theater before this. My only complaint is the lack of time that ZPZ got... I would have much rather seen them as a main headliner with a full set. Alot of Zappa song are pretty long and there is just too much Zappa to cover in that little time. Having said that they did amazing with time time they had. The Set list could not have been any better, from opening with Peaches En Regalia (Thanks to the ppl from Calgary for requesting they play!!!) to songs like the Roxy/Elsewhere run of Village of the Sun, Echidna's Arf (Of You), and Do you Ever Wash that thing was fantastic. I was especially excited to see them play Broken Hearts are For Assholes, witch i really was hoping to see but wasn't expecting it at all. Although i don't remember the exact set list or order (As i was to i awe to put it all together) I do remember other excellent choices: Montana, Inca Roads, Filthy Habits, Carolina Hardcore Ecstacy, and the super awesome Willie The Pimp. All the musicians where amazing and the solo's were fantastic. The crowd also responded very well to ZPZ. Most of the people seemed to be there for Dream Theater (Of coarse I did also meet a lot of people there for Zappa!) but they all seemed pretty amazed to see/hear these songs for the first time and enjoying it very much. Witch I guess was the point for ZPZ to do this tour, to introduce people to the brilliant Frank Zappa who they would have never heard of otherwise. Mission Accomplished! However I really hope they comeback to Edmonton again as a headliner for us hardcore Zappa freaks. Thanks for an amazing show Dweezil and Co. and for doing ZPZ!

P.S. The openers where both alright... not what I'm into but still seamed awesome at their styles. As for Dream Theater I was to buzzed off Zappa I couldn't even attempt to enjoy them so I left early still in awe from ZPZ. No Offense to Dream Theater or their fans but i cant think of any bands i could enjoy after something like that!!

"Larry! Come here!" said his furious mother, putting the telephone down, " I’ve just had a call from Mrs. Harrison about your behavior to her Doris at the school dance last night. You wretched, rude boy!" tn requin
"I was nice to her, Mum, really I was!" protested the youth. nike tn

A few days after Christmas, a mother was working in the kitchen listening to her young son playing with his new electric train in the living room. nike air max
She heard the train stop and her son said, "All of you sons of b*tches who want off, get the hell off now, cause this is the last stop! And all of you sons of b*tches who are getting on, get your asses in the train, cause we're going down the tracks." nike air max
The mother went nuts and told her son, "We don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to your room and you are to stay there for TWO HOURS. When you come out, you may play with your train, but I want you to use nice language." nike air max
Two hours later, the son comes out of the bedroom and resumes playing with his train. Soon the train stopped and the mother heard her son say, "All passengers who are disembarking from the train, please remember to take all of your belongings with you. We thank you for riding with us today and hope your trip was a pleasant one. We hope you will ride with us again soon." She hears the little boy continue, "For those of you just boarding, we ask you to stow all of your hand luggage under your seat. Remember, there is no smoking on the train. We hope you will have a pleasant and relaxing journey with us today." nike air max
As the mother began to smile, the child added, "For those of you who are pissed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see the b*tch in the kitchen." nike air max
