Did you attend this show at the Chevy Theatre in Wallingford?

Dweezil and the band would love to read your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

First I'd like to say that this was the closest to a perfect show in the three times I have seen the band. Sound....perfect.( right center 18 rows back).
Setlist.....near perfect ( glad the didn't play the suzy creamcheese group....I saw it in boston this summer.....wanted to hear yo momma)
DZ and the band were AMAZING.
The thing I loved most about the show was that they used the words that the audience gave for duprees throughout the rest of the show. It reminded me of Franks secret wordfor a show. I was waiting for them to sing carolina hardcore muscle meat.......Everyone in the band was having a blast.
A word for DZ, I have read that you want to play the songs as Frank wrote them. last night proved that even a small amount of improv can take the music to the next level( even though it cant get much better).....Even Frank didn't perform the songs as he wrote them most of the time. I felt that was the only thing missing the other times I saw the band. Humor does belong in music. Bottom line......the band fucking around and having fun on stage brought me back...............way back.....I thank you.

I know the order is not right but here goes

V STINK FOOT
HOW COULD I BE SUCH A FOOL
AIN'T GOT NO HEART
I'M NOT SATISFIED
LONELY LITTLE GIRL
TINY LIGHTS
V DUMB ALL OVER
BALTIMORE
ADVANCE ROMANCE
JOES GARAGE
V COSMIK
PYGMY TWYLYTE
DUPREE'S PARADISE.... MUSCLE MEAT THEME
UNCLE REMUS
WILLIE THE PIMP
DOREEN
ZOOT ALLURES
SHIP AHOY..............AMAZING
G SPOT
DOG MEAT
GAS STATION
SAN BERDINO
ILLINOIS ENEMA BANDIT

encore
IM THE SLIME
V MUFFIN MAN

There were a group of people who had to get up every 2 or 3 songs to get drinks or piss.............THEY SHOULD BE SHOT......WITH MUSCLE MEAT

hey glenn, while you were out, dude, no, no, it was ship ahoy, a little coda from zoot allures, from the shut up and play your guitar live stuff, 2-3-76, from japan with fz guitar, andre lewis keyboards, roy estrada bass and terry bozzio on drums, they did it at the beacon too the night before on halloween.

Saw Frank in 1974 in Waterbury, Ct with Climax Blues Band first time. This was second ZPZ show and very enjoyables. Ms Sanchez played a great solo. There is culture left in Western Civilization

Instead of having "Accept No Substitutes" printed on the the ticket and in every ad you should put "For Zappa Aficionado’s Only" I was at the show last night and was disappointed. No doubt the big fans up front enjoyed themselves. I thought the band lost the crowd in the back halfway through. I was bored. It only perked back up when they had FZ playing Cosmik Debris on the big screen. Looks like the first tour was the one for me, this show is for true believers only.

:D ...or maybe "Not For For The Aurally Challenged" since so many first timers have given extremely positive reviews!

my only downers of the night were that the zpz dvd was not available and dweezil cut off the end of doreen - frank had some great guitar work on the album for doreen ending....and thanks to an earlier post that corrected the ship ahoy mislabel - i was having troubles with password to get in and correct that miscall....

Hey Glenn, lighten up. The group that kept getting up to piss or get beers(we did piss and get beers) also got up because it was impossible to sit down during some of those solos. AMAZING!!!!! We were just trying to be considerate. Thanks DZ and crew for playing with such statistical density.
Ray, you sound just as powerful as the first time I heard you in 79 in Springfield Ma. Hope to see you nest year.

Great show but got a little loud at points. The classical segment had perfect dynamics as a Frank show would. At other times percusion was lost and drums(...Great drummer...don't mean he was'nt right on the money)took over too much for my ears. The best Zoot Allures I ever heard and a killer Willie the Pimp.Dupree's Paradise was exceptional in sound and improvisation. Thanks Ray for the tour-great to hear your tremendous voice again. And your band does a fine job on those charts. Thanks Dweezil & family trust for bringing back this amazing music-my third show in one year and I cant wait for the next tour.

SC3 was playing before the gig at London. I wonder if Dweez knows Trey?
